Captain D's — Restaurant in Cookeville

We ordered the family meal being advertised that was what I assumed "a good deal" 6 piece chicken and 6 piece fish and 2 sides. We upgraded 1 side to Mac n cheese and got 2 orders of cheese sticks. We sat in line forever in the drive thru waiting on our food which was fine considering our past experiences and quality of food.! We only got half the food we pd for and didn't realize until we already left. So we turned around and went back, go inside only to be told that the sign didn't say that and it stated something else and she didn't believe it said that, we got what we pd for and if we wanted anything else we could pay for it. So at that time we just want what we pd for, 50 dollar's actually, they left out our mac n cheese and cheese sticks after shorting us chicken strips. While waiting on that nothing but a terrible attitude was givin, no apologizing and my husband being told he was a liar while the food we did get was getting cold, we decided to take a picture of the sign and what it said which we were right.! We finally got all our food after about an hr and being disrespected but not even our cold fries were replaced.! Unacceptable.! I've tried calling everyday for a week only to be told the GM has left or isn't there.! If we could've just got our food we pd 50 bucks for without being called a liar we would've been fine and accepted an apology but that was the most terrible experience I've ever had.! Instead our excuse was "she's new" finally being handed our food while the other food was old and cold and after a long 12 hrs at work where we both are management and would never treat our guests like that.! This used to be the best place with great customer service and great quality food but not...

There was kids behind counter that didn't work there. Girls going to bathroom multiple times. Took cleaning supplies in there an never brought out. Kids off street coming in for bathroom an staff that had Capt D sweet shirt on was talking to them. Employees I assume we're standing at drink machine talking about other things that didn't need to be talked about in front of customer. Bugs crawling on the table. People behind counter showing skin in tank top. Floors an tables dirty. No thank yous no come back. Nothing was filled and was nasty looking. Dirty clothes on employees like they was working on cars and hanging out behind the counter. We waited over 20 mins for our food finally went up there and it was sitting on counter while the employees was talking about plans for afterwork. I got the platter with fish, shrimp, and chicken, with okra, baked potato, and macaroni and cheese. Also, the cheese sticks appetizer. I have never liked fish, but I eat it on Fridays. This was the first time I've eaten fish that I actually enjoyed it. Excellent! The okra wasn't the best I've had, but it was pretty good. The cheese sticks were so-so. The potato was under cooked, but my microwave took care of that. I didn't expect much from the chicken, going by its appearance. It was better than it looked, so I strongly suggest changing the oil in the fry vat used for chicken. It's way past time. The macaroni and cheese was the worst I've ever tasted. I hate to waste food, but it wasn't fit to eat. The hush puppies were good enough, but not quite as good as I would expect from a fish restaurant in Tennessee.
