Dave's Pizza — Restaurant in Coos Bay

My husband and I are new to Coos Bay. We keep hearing ads on the radio for Dave’s Pizza, so we thought we would try it out. We ordered a veggie pizza for pick up. The woman who helped us order suggested the pesto sauce on the veggie pizza, so we tried that. The pizza was horrible. One star because it was objectively edible. My husband described it as cardboard with a smear of green paint and raw vegetables. The crust was tasteless and did remind me of cardboard. The pesto sauce had no flavor. Both of which may have been forgivable if the toppings had been delicious, but they were not. The veggies were literally raw. I come to Coos Bay/North Bend 4 or 5 times a year for weeks at a time, and try the local spots. Dave's Pizza is expensive and flavorless. Honestly zero flavor. It was $70 for 2 large pizzas that didnt even fill the boxes edge to edge.1 pizza being a simple pepperoni, the other being the south coast special, the crust is super thin and brittle (which i didnt care for at all) if i wanted thick crust its a $3.95 up charge, seriously? Honestly the lack of flavor makes it not worth it. Ingredients did seem fresh and the tomatoes on the south coast was super juicy. I did like the atmosphere inside even though i didnt dine in, and the employee was friendly, not going to knock the workers. But $70?...

I really liked Dave's while my wife and I lived in Coos Bay. I've always loved pizza so finding a non-chain pizza restaurant is something fun I like to do. It also helped that my coworkers SANG praises for this place so I was happy to give them a try. The only reason I give a 4 out of 5 was because while the food was good, it didn't knock my socks off. It was better than whatever you would get from Domino's and the workforce behind the counter was friendly, especially to a new customer like me walking through their door.
