I have gone to DQ locations all over Texas since childhood, so I believe I have a pretty good idea of the company brand and service. I have had trouble with the products and service at the Copperas Cove location on Georgetown Road in the past, but I like to give businesses the benefit of the doubt and another chance. The location isn't ideal as it is difficult (& sometimes) dangerous to get into because it is located at the "knot" of a bow tie 4 way intersection. The front of the parking lot is shaped like a parallelogram, which makes for a very short drive-through right off Georgtown Road. Only a few vehicles can be in the drive-through at a time without having to snake around the front of the restaurant, which blocks the exit of anyone parked in front. They can't help the location issue, so I'll move on to the menu board. Yesterday, I pulled up to the menu board at the drive-through and sat there for several minutes waiting to hear someone on the speaker greet me and take my order. I finally realized that the menu board was out of order. I confirmed this at the window. They either need to fix this issue or put a sign on the menu board to let customers know that it is out of order & instruct them to pull forward & place their order at the window. Dairy Queen is known for its frozen desserts. The Blizzards are tasty and are supposed to be so thick and frozen that before they are handed to the customer, the DQ employee is supposed to turn over the open cup to show that the Blizzard doesn't fall out or drip. If the Blizzard falls out or drips, the DQ dictates that the employee will make the customer another Blizzard and not charge them for the first failed Blizzard or the replacement. That's what is supposed to happen. When I placed my order for 3 Blizzards and food for my family, I was told that the chicken strip basket would take extra time. I said that would be fine, but I wanted them to hold off on making the Blizzards until the food was cooked and boxed, so the Blizzards wouldn't melt. The clerk assured me that would be taken care of and asked me to pull around to the front of the building where an employee would bring out my order. I parked as requested, and about 2 minutes later, the same clerk who had taken my order came out with someone else's order & asked me if it was mine. I told her it wasn't & repeated my order. Later, another clerk came out with our meals, but not the 3 Blizzards. I told him that we were missing 3 Blizzards, so he said he'd check on it. A 3rd clerk came out a few minutes later with a drink carrier containing our Blizzards, handed them to me & left without the typical showmanship of turning the Blizzards over to show all was well. All 3 were melted to the point of being drinkable rather than frozen. Clearly, they had been made when I placed the order & left on the counter. No napkins were included with our food or the Blizzards. I left my vehicle and went inside to speak with someone about it, but though no customers were at the counter, not one person came to speak with me. I finally left in frustration, and my family drank the Blizzards on the way home to keep the mess to a minimum. I don't know why DQ can't get it together, but I am done paying for abysmal service and lack of quality. I know it's fast food, but should we continue to accept lackluster service and substandard quality just because it's "fast"? If that's what others wish to do, that's their business, but I'm done with this DQ. Unless management makes changes, they're going to continue to lose customers. As they haven't fixed their menu board (due to cost or perhaps apathy), I can't imagine that they can afford to lose more business. It's sad. DQ has been a symbol of quality family service since 1940. It's really...
Read moreMAJOR SAFETY ISSUE NOT ADDRESSED PROPERLY.....It was awful....the ice machine was broken and leaking water everywhere. They took the rug from infront of the machine and full of water, left it in a crumpled ball in front of the door to the side to "dry" out, however it could not the way it was lying on the side walk. They desperately needed a wet vac machine as this problem had created several pools of water where people were slipping. An older woman, i heard her say she was 71, almost slipped several times, catching herself on a chair or corner of a table to stop the fall this happened several times due to the condition and amount of water on the floor. She was speaking to one of the employees asking why they did not turn off the machine and use the machine located at the drive thru? He had no answers to any of the questions or complaints. He did say they were occasionally mopping to try to remove the continued stream of water. A hose was broken and water continued to slowly flow. There was a "wet" plastic floor sign near the machine. Again, i do believe the machine should have been turned off along with the source of the water supply to the machine. This was a very unsafe condition for young or old. I cant believe that the manager or the owner of this shop did not have any answer or even correct the problem. Occasionally mopping and not often enough was not the answer. This is a very serious safety issue That no one seemed to be in a hurry to...
Read moreI can't stand this dairy queen anymore. Every time I go there its a problem. I had went one time ordered my food through the drive-thru I was asked to pull around which was not a problem I probably sat there a good 20 minutes and my food never came out. So I went inside to ask about my food and they haven't even started making my food yet. I went tonight they were too busy talking over me while I was trying to place the order of the food that I was buying and that I was eating so she got my order wrong. She tried to say it was a miscommunication but no it was not. You were not listening to me you were too busy talking over me and cutting me off . I had to go back up there and get a refund which she didn't even know how to refund it back onto my card that she took it off of. This is the worst Dairy Queen in this city. Save your money don't go here. I will be calling the district manager tomorrow. Hopefully it's the right phone number since nobody that works in there knows anybody's number that's...
