TERRIBLE !!! I have never been treated so unprofessionally !!! They send you From one person to another and no one communicates. They truly have the "worst " system. They moved me around about 7-8 times my first visit. And define medical specialist ? And then to top it off after speaking with Kelsey who started all this drama then I got jo ann who said she would Take care me and I have her the info she requested so she could Contact them directly. So then I called a few days and no ann was able To verify my info. So then I get handed off to Joel for my physical then he starts saying I had been cleared but now there was a request for clarification on a past medical info then I get handed off to mark same thing over and over and now joann is denying she spoke to my doctor that cleared me to donate ... ugh mark assured me this was the last of the information they. By this time I am feeling harassed and discriminated against when all i came To do is donate plasma. I made 3 trips to this place and I never did get to donate. So mark works on it for a few days and nothing !! Then I get transferred to another manager named Greg. By this time everything has asked and answered several times. Greg assures me he will get it taken care of... well that was last week and nothing so I call and he is out of town !! So I ask for mark to see if there were any updates noted. Nope !!! Well then Leann just gets in Middle Of things by getting on the phone and proceeded to chew me out and keep in mind I am a 58year old disabled grandmother !! Oh and during all this I attempted to call the corporate office several times and no one answered. Leann decided to then ban me from the bpl location and went on to say she didn't like my case from the beginning she ranted on for a bit (pls Check the phone tapes I will be requesting a copy myself ) eventually she hung up on me I called back to request they send my file Documents back to me ss card tx dl etc. they hung up on me again. I called back and guess who Kelsey she explained to me that I can't get my file back that they have to keep them for 4 years for the FDA. She was still talking when I heard someone Grab the phone and hung it up. Very childish and disrespectful. I called the FDA I will be submitting a complaint and request for proof regarding BPL's claim that they have to keep the records of People that Do not even give blood. Bottom line .. DO NOT use this place in...
Read moreTrying to donate with BPL has been a small nightmare. I've been donating for a long time with BioLife in a different area with literally no problems, but have relocated here- not a "new" donor, just new to BPL. My first time in, the girl who did my first stick went too far and struck a nerve, causing my right hand to go numb and my middle finger to spasm. Instead of removing the needle, she waited several minutes while I had to hold my finger to stop the spasming before someone more competent came up to us. The next stick on my left arm also caused a hematoma and was done by their supervising phlebotomist. I was definitely hydrated and have really good veins. I returned a few days later, after most of the pain in my right arm went away. While waiting for a chair, there were several people dealing with blown veins and the poorly trained staff could barely keep up with what was going on. I ended up with another hematoma in the left arm and would not let them try the right arm. I got half my pay due to their inability to give a proper needle stick, yet again. My right arm is still affected by the first stick, and I have trouble extending my fingers all the way out without my palm going numb. This place needs better training for their employees, it's embarrassing really. They let people without the proper licensing help out in areas of the building that they should not be in and those who are licensed just don't...
Read moreToday was my first time to ever donate plasma. Yes, you'll need to show up with (if it's your first time) your id, social security card, a mask, PATIENCE, and the expectation that you'll be hanging out a few hours. You'll fill out paperwork, answer questions on a kiosk, and there is an extensive thorough screening, followed by a brief physical exam. It takes time. The staff is there to help you every step of the way (Deborah - with her positive attitude - was super friendly and helpful). Once you're found to be in good health, and you get the green light to donate, you'll be moved to the beds and hooked up. Does it hurt? Well, if you've ever had an i.v., there's your answer. Jenna administered mine and she confidently told me she was a good sticker - and she didn't lie. I barely felt it and no, i don't like needles. From there on out, it was smooth sailing. I was paid $100 being it was my first donation. Not too shabby. And I can come back Friday. ((There are incentive programs (like if you guys have had the Anthrax immunization, or if you refer a friend) that will get you some extra scratch.)) I would suggest, if you're on the fence, just do it - assuming you're in good health. It's quick, easy money, and your plasma goes to a good cause. Feel free to tell them...
