The Dalmatian Texas Burgers — Restaurant in Copperas Cove

Ok, so I’m breaking my rules a bit here because Google doesn’t allow half stars. I don’t like giving out 5 stars unless everything is just perfect but what these folks are delivering deserves more than a 4 and I’m not bringing down the rating over some nitpicks. First off, the operator/owners are super friendly and you can tell they take pride in their business and food. Secondly, making your own buns?!? Nobody around here is putting that kind of effort and energy into their hamburgers. And the value! Where you going to get an actual fresh made burger with a homemade bun for under $10? You aren’t. It’s actually sad that people will swing into a McDonalds or Whataburger and pay more for an inferior product in quality and taste. What are my nitpicks on an Armadillo burger and fries? I’m a fan of a little thicker patty. I will probably make my burger a double next time to better complement the heft of the bun. The fries tasted awesome but I’d prefer a little more crisp on the outside. If they tell me the fries are cooked in beef tallow instead of seed oils then I’d really be happy. The jalapeno Mac and cheese was very creamy and really to my liking. Also, do note that this is takeout and there’s not a dine-in option. Long story short, if you want a burger and fries in Copperas Cove or nearby area you should make this a stop.

**Updated. Tried 2 more burgers as doubles (Chili and the Area 51). Both great quality and tasting burgers. I’m standing firm that this is the only place to go in Copperas Cove for hamburgers. Oh my gosh I don't even know where to begin. We walked in and the two guys who I assume are the owners were in the back playing old school Mario which is fricking awesome in my opinion. My fiance wanted them to keep playing to see if they could reach a high score lol! They let us sample some of their chili and their mayo that they make and put on the Area 51 and that settled our orders for us lol! We got two burgers, both double patties one being a chili burger and the other Area 51 of course. We also got a side of Mac n cheese and two drinks. the cost was 30 dollars and some cents, including tip, which compared to the amount of food we got is amazing. It didn't take long for the Order to be made either which tells me they're on top of their prep! When we got home we split each burger in half, with me being pregnant I was worried it would be pink in the middle, NOPE!! They were cooked perfectly and even crispy around the edges which I absolutely love! As for taste, this place has ruined every other restaurant in town for me. The Mac n Cheese is phenomenal. I had the 'Murica this time. A great, tasty burger held together by the perfect bun. I really haven't had a bun like this before. Its the kind that can stand up to all the juicy goodness of this perfectly seasoned patty, melted cheese, and just enough crisp veggies to not overwhelm the star of the show: the cheesy beef patty. You'll probably want a shovel for the fries since I couldn't get them in my mouth fast enough, my goodness, they're twice-fried deliciousness. The chef said these fries were potatoes THIS morning! You'll want to get in sooner rather than later because, according to their Facebook page, they're only open until they sell out to ensure you're only getting the best, freshest food every day. So make sure to check their Facebook page before coming out, they seem to keep it updated so you're not wasting a trip. And this place is worth the trip. There's no indoor seating but there's plenty of parking lot to enjoy your meal in your car. There's plenty of room in the waiting area so I hope to see them install a seating bar along the wall soon so I can eat in and enjoy the tempting smells and fun atmosphere while devouring their masterpiece of a burger as soon as possible.
