Today I went for the first time to Pura Vida and while we were looking at the menu, we sat down and asked Vale (a server?) some information, she barely answered the question, but my daughter (who has Down Syndrome) tried to give her a hug, Vale moved apart from my daughter's arms with a disgust on her face. I didn't say anything on the moment, because I became seriously mad. I want to add that every time that my daughter wants to hug or show affect to people, I always talk to her reminding her to respect the personal's bubble and that she should not touch people without their consent... this time I didn't have any chance to say anything, I was deeply mad and hurt.
Since that moment I didn't want to see Vale around my daughter, later she brought my daughter's plate and I said to Vale that it was for my girl, who by the way would not bite her and she was not contagious, and that my girl just happen to have Down Syndrome, but she is harmless. Vale asked "suprised" what she did wrong, I told her what she did and suggested her to be more sensible to people with special needs, most of all, because she could hurt people's feelings. Vale did not expressed any apologies for her discrimination!!! It is incredible that still there are people like Vale that can be insensible to other people that happen to have any disability and to discriminate others just to look a little different... Managers, please you should give Vale a good customer's capacitation and suggest Vale to make some community service to understand that people with special needs are just people, they deserve respect.
The food is expensive and not that good. Place...
Read moreThey do many things well but fall down on simple things. Like a piece of toast. They toss it on a conveyor belt toaster that only does one side. Do they flip it and do the other side? Not seen that once. And there's how I felt about being up-charged for their gluten free bread: It makes me sad because this is a medical necessity for me, not a flavor choice. And they engage in predation, because the COST difference in the regular and gluten free bread for one order of toast is probably around 15 to 25 cents per order (probably on the lower end as they don't use particularly good GF bread) -- but the up-charge is $2.00. It is for labor costs? Uhuh ... it gets tossed on the one sided speed toaster. When I posted about the extra charge for gluten free they offered to address it, but the offers you see here in reply to concerns and negative comments are at least in some cases just a white-wash. They just wanted to justify with platitudes and generalities, they wouldn't actually identify costs that would show they're not being predatory. It just undercuts their whole healthy vibe. Sad. {PS: Now that I see the reply below, I'm pretty sure these replies are AI generated. Maybe they also used AI to set pricing. Yesterday: The customer is always right. Today: Drip-pricing the customer is the way to...
Read moreOrdered a salad with Avocado through uber eats and the salad came without Avocado. The issue is I was on a specific cleanse so I could only have very few ingredients with my salad that were allowed with this specific protocol, the main one being Avocado which did not come with my order. And there was no way for me to contact them to tell them so they can send the missing item I had already paid for. So I had a very unsatisfying and low nutrient meal during a time when I needed it the most.
Then to male matters worse, when I tried to let them know, first it was nearly impossible to get in contact with an actual person and when I finally did get contacted it was only via email to tell me that I needed to take my issue up with uber eats and they could not help me. I'm sorry but after paying $35 for a practically plain salad and then to not have any customer support about the issue, it's just wrong and this type of service with restaurants and delivery services needs to stop.
Uber eats is not the restaurant that prepared the order and missed the item. So even if uber eats refunds the $4 for the Avocado it doesn't address the issue.
Bad experience all around. I wouldn't recommend ordering from here if you have any specific...
