We stayed here for 4 nights in January as part of a S Florida road trip. I really wanted to leave a higher review overall as the stay started out well. We were leaving another Hyatt property and messaged the hotel to say we might be arriving early and I’d had a flare of a back injury and would appreciate a room with a couch as we would likely be in the room a lot. We received a quick response and were very grateful for the upgraded room assigned to us. Although we have Hyatt status an upgrade is always appreciated.
On arrival at the hotel, there was no valet or bell guy to be seen and we had to go in and look for someone to help. The lobby area is beautifully decorated and has an elegant and well maintained feel. Check in was quick and easy and we headed to the room.
Rooms are very nicely appointed and very clean, with a Miami/Spanish vibe. Nicely updated bathrooms with all amenities including a shower with dual heads. Bath amenities provided were also of nice quality. Bed was very comfortable with nice quality linens and it was easy to get additional pillows when needed.
The negatives came with food and beverage. We had breakfast on our first morning, where it seemed there were only 2 servers and no one hosting so we just stood for quite a while waiting to be seated and when we were the servers always seemed harassed and rushed, despite there only being 4 other tables occupied. Food quality and selection on the buffet was good as well as the cooked to order omelette that was included, although some items ran low and were labeled incorrectly.
The next day we tried the lobby bar for drinks and light dinner. We were seated for a good 7 or 8 minutes before anyone served us, again 2 bartenders and only 3 tables taken so it wasn’t busy. I ordered a gin and tonic and husband a Diet Pepsi and I asked for water with lime. After another 8 minutes or so we finally got drinks, which was a very watered down gin with flat tonic and no water. Husband got his Pepsi. I asked for water again and we ordered food. Waited probably 10 or 15 minutes for food and when it came I again asked for the water I still hadn’t received. Food was average quality, no better than an Applebees or Chili’s quality, however on the second bite in to the quesadilla, my husband found a long hair in the middle of the filling and removed it from his mouth. He politely returned the food and asked the bartender to have it remade due to the hair. He didn’t argue, wasn’t rude, didn’t demand it for free just asked for a refire. At this point the bartender became immediately argumentative saying she couldn’t see anything and insinuated he was lying. To what end I don’t know. He said ok leave it and walked away. They did bring another, placed it down no apology, no asking if everything was ok. No refills on the Pepsi, each drink was charged a ridiculous $5 per can for. Check came and went, no apology, no asking if the replacement was ok.
On our final day we skipped maid service but needed fresh towels. This infuriatingly took 3 calls to actually get them.
At checkout we retrieved our car from the valet, who were now more visible and jumped in our car to get to our next stop in the keys. It wasn’t until we arrived at the next hotel we noticed a 6 inch long dent in the passenger door that was not previously there. It’s clear another door had been opened on to it. This damage was not there when we handed the car in and we had only driven to the next hotel so the only way it can have happened was with the valet.
The location is good, but of course it’s in a city area and despite being on the 11th floor there was quite a lot of street noise and sirens etc.
Overall what could have been a great stay was...

I have nothing but good to say about this hotel. I travel a lot with my family and this hotel has been the best I’ve ever stayed in the country. My mom was staying at the Biltmore Hotel 5 minutes away, and my mom wanted to leave the Biltmore for Hyatt Regency. Let’s just say my mom will never be staying their again because their cleanliness is questionable.
Everyone at Hyatt was wonderful and VERY polite. From the day you enter the hotel, to the time you leave they treat you like royalty no matter who you are.
Starting with the vallet workers, thank you for holding the doors open for me and everyone who came to the hotel. They greeted me with such kindness. They answered all the questions I had for the cost of the vallet and where I could park. They were patiently waiting for me to get situated in my room before putting my car away. No one rushed me. They were absolutely wonderful and so fast getting my car back out for me.
The front desk staff did a quick check-in, someone offered to help me with my bags, and they helped me with my ESA dog. The front desk staff told me all the services their hotel had and gave me a list of the amenities. In that list, there was a QR code to the hotel’s restaurant’s menu. Anything that I would ask the front desk for, they would go and help me with the best attitude. It was very organized.
The cleaning staff were also very sweet people. I was there for 5 days and 4 nights. Everyday they asked me if I needed anything, if I would like them to come in and clean. They were always so happy and with the best attitude.
Even the people who come to your room to fix things for you. I had 2 people come fix my balcony door. It took them 5 minutes to respond to my call and 5 minutes to fix it. Another person came to my room to fix the remote control that ran out of batteries. They were all very polite and cared about doing their jobs correctly.
When I went to the restaurant, the staff treated me very well. The place was spotless clean! I could not find a spec of dust in this place. The food was well cooked, well seasoned, and always piping hot! I definitely recommend trying their Miracle Burger and Churros with Dulce de Leche.
This hotel has been super pet friendly. My dog has traveled with me across the United States, and at this place he was treated like royalty too. The front desk people gave me a list of rules for my dog with the nearest dog park, emergency vet hospital, and local pet groomers. They gave me a tag to hang from my door that indicated I had a dog. They offered a water bowl and bed for my dog. First hotel I’ve been to that had done that. Nice touch!
This hotel definitely treats their employees well. It is definitely a welcoming environment. The location is perfect. You can walk to so many different coffee shops and restaurants. It’s...
Read moreIt was alright but I wasn't too impressed. I was attending training there at the university and the gentleman at check-in did not understand I was a guest, so he treated me rather rudely and tried to send me on my way. After I checked in with valet, and went back in a second time he finally realized I was an actual guest and suddenly his whole demeanor changed. I'm not sure why you wouldn't be hospitable up front to anyone and everyone? Then the Valet moved my car and immediately after lost my key....they came up to my room in order to find me and ask about the key, that they must have had in order to move my car in the first place? When I told this too the lady she just shrugged and kept saying I don't know. When I told her I cannnot lose those keys she had the same reaction. Turns out they were in the guy's pocket the whole time. I really don't mind the mistake, it happens, but the way it was handled seemed silly to me. Personal opinions on that aside, the beds were not comfortable and there was black mold in the bathroom and the tub drain was mostly clogged so showers felt like half baths. The room was fairly nice in general despite those things, although I was there a week and no one ever changed bed sheets. There was a weird smudge on the bottom of one of the sheets and it was there every night, so I don't think it had ever been replaced. They also charged my card for a water I never used. I always brought my own water from class so I know I didn't open one of their bottles. The location is pretty good and I never got a chance to check out the amenities but those in my group said the gym was pretty nice. I really wanted to check out the pool but never got time to! They also provided catering for the whole time we were there, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks and I do have to say the food was delicious, not a single complaint there! They did an amazing job on that. Overall, I think I just expected more. I've gotten world class customer service and better cleanliness at...
