Wow, Sawa, you are amazing!!!!
I went for an event and Sawa surprised us with a Japanese and Lebanese Feast. They decided to preview the Miami Spice Menu that day, and it was sensational Basil Hummus: the color was so different, it was green with a hint of flavored basil. The texture was perfect as well as the taste. Regular Hummus: it was so nicely presented as you can see in my pictures. The texture was perfect as well as the taste, almost as good as mine ;) Beet Hummus: oh wow this was so pretty, that color looked beautiful on the table and the flavor was even better. The texture was perfect and I ate it without the pita bread so I can enjoy that amazing flavor. Sushi: perfect presentation, taste, and quality. Poke Bowl: one of the best I have tried, so fresh, flavorful, and filled with many ingredients. These people didn't spare into the making of this meal. Fatouch Salad: it looked so organically fresh, but I couldn't eat it. My friend said it was delicious. Falafel: great taste and they also made one with quinoa. Kibbe: with meat and the vegetarian one. I loved the veggie kibbe, this was my favorite of the day!! the flavor reminds me of my grandmother, who is from Lebanon. Chicken and Salmon BBQ: I had the salmon one, and it was perfectly seasoned with Arabic spices and made fresh right there for all of us. Chicken/Cheese with angel hair crispy pasta: tender chicken with melted cheese that went great with the crispy pasta. White and Red Sangria: served at the moment by a nice lady and a gentleman at the bar. So many fruits in each glass and so refreshing. Virgin Mojito: for those who don't drink alcohol. Knafe: this dessert was pretty and taste wise was exactly like the one I used to eat when I was young. Service was on point too, everyone helped out with huge and pretty smiles on their faces. I can't wait to go back for more and also enjoy their...

Why two stars and not one? Because most of the time, yes, their food is good. But that doesn't delegate their responsibility as a commercial food purveyor. I called a few minutes ago. I asked "who am I speaking with?" and their answer was "who would you like to speak to?" A couple of things to unpack here: Hello? Customer Service? Where are you? I just asked a simple question and you are a high ticket business. At least, give me the name of the person representing the business at that moment. So, under pressure, I asked for "the manager". After that they just left me waiting on the phone. I wonder if it would have made a difference if I would have told her that my wife was sick, throwing up like Linda Blair on The Exorcist, over some rotten tempura cauliflower. Maybe then, facing a potential lawsuit, she would have rushed to get ne with a manager. In all honesty, I would have been ok talking to them and explaining the situation. I was sure together we would have gotten to the bottom of the issue. But, the person on the phone wanted to play some power game, so now, here we are.
I tried to talk to someone at the restaurant (I have my own documentation of the call), I have the spoiled food still in my power and I am taking my wife to the hospital right after pressing "post". I am ready to bet a lot of money against what the diagnostic is going to be, since those cauliflowers are the only thing she ordered. They may have facilitated a civil lawsuit. We will see.
The rotten cauliflower is on the top, the one they should be serving ALL the time is below. You can totally see the difference in color, the top being completely brown. Not to mention, the...
Read moreWhen dining in Coral Gables, the majority of the time you expect to eat at a restaurant that does not disappoint and that lives up to their standards and maybe even go above and beyond. As a former Customer Service Manager dining in at a restaurant I know exactly what to look out for as far as basic customer service. Basic customer service is fine, its gets the job dine and customer leaves happy. Excellent customer service gets more than the job done and the customer leaves happy and wanting to come back. Going above and beyond customer service is by the best anyone in the service Industry can give. It allows the customer to come back and ask for the same server. Visiting Sawa in coral gables I was able to experience above and beyond customer service. Our waiter went above and beyond for us and for that reason I will be back with more people including family. The food was great, couple items were bland as other reviewers had mentioned but our waiter really made up for that and gave us recommendations. He was very attentive and he also how our day was, have we been before, and are we new the area. Doing this allows you to connect with your customer and really see what you give them. Thank you Mahmoud for all you do and we hope you have a bright future ahead of you. Sawa is very lucky to have you and you are an asset to the company. Cant wait to see...
