Mariposa has been my favorite restaurant for a long time- and there are several aspects which draw me back every year for my birthday dinner! Location- One of my favorite parts of visiting the restaurant is the fact that it is on the top floor or Neiman Marcus at Merrick Park. Right next to the restaurant is an array of fascinating displays. My favorite time to visit is during the fall/winter since the best decorations and displays are up: Christmas decorations! They have everything from Christmas treats to ornaments to automatic carousels. The walk towards Mariposa never disappoints! Service- Time and time again the servers are more than kind when taking my order. Often, they joke around with me and my family, which creates an inviting atmosphere. During my most recent Birthday dinner at Mariposa, I had an amazing sever/waiter called Alejandro who was both attentive and charismatic. He made my day when he gave me a small container of my favorite soup to go! Food- The food is amazing! They provide a culinary experience by starting your meal with a phenomenal chicken broth and fluffy bread with strawberry butter. Their soups never disappoint- from the broth to lentil soup to lobster bisque! Their ceasar salad, crab pasta, classic burger, and salmon tacos are absolutely mouth-watering and i cannot recommend them enough! My favorite way to end my meal is with their warm chocolate...
Read moreThis is a wonderful, chic, intimate hidden treasure on the third floor of Neiman Marcus that is unexpected in Merrick Park. Once you are on the third floor, if you don't pay attention you might just miss it. Look out for the Baccarat glass boutique counter and you will be there! The service, the food and the ambience are stellar! Mariposa reminds me of those hidden boutique restaurant gems in New York. There are many special surprises like the puffed bread, the strawberry butter, the consomme soup for starters and creme brulee or the delicious chocolate chip cookies you can take home in a beautiful NM bag. I have been going to this very special place for many years and it's a great place to bring a special friend or a have special lunch with a loved one like your mother, spouse or other loved ones for a refined experience. It's also delightful to see young children experience their first refined restaurant. Very special! Very different! If you are tired of the typical crowded and loud restaurants on the first floor of Merrick Park, go to the third floor of Neiman Marcus for a special experience! Please take the time to make a reservation. There is also outdoor seating overlooking Merrick Park. In particular, I want to commend an excellent server Gerardo. He is the epitome of top-notch service and detail. Ask for him. He is...
Read moreSoulEdge: Inception The news of Saks Fifth Ave acquiring Neiman Marcus. I had to stop by to dine there. I hope the Neiman Marcus name and its restaurants/cafes stay. Believe it or not it was my first time inside the store, some employees figured that out quickly. Yes I took pics, it's not meant to offend anyone, I apologize in advance. It will a shame not to showcase to the world the awesome displays. Inside Mariposa, Gabriel & Chloe (she's cool) gave me excellent service. I ordered the Lemon Butter Crab Pasta and Carrot cake. Love the Popover with strawberry butter (smooth silk texture) this visit dedicated to my then ex German American girlfriend. Cue in the songs "Lover (Remix)" by Taylor Swift feat. Shawn Mendes and "I Want It That Way" by Backstreet...
