Bubby's BBQ — Restaurant in Corbin

I should have heeded the other reviews. Don’t do what I just did and waste $40 on dried out food with limited choices and horrible service.

Called to see what time they closed on a Saturday night- 8 pm. Cool. We will be there by 6:45. Plenty of time and rotation on the buffet…. EXCEPT THEY DIDNT REFILL ANYTHING AND CLOSED AT 7. If you didn’t want fried catfish you were SOL. We were SOL. Waitress was befuddled as to why we asked if they were putting out more BBQ pork or chicken fingers or chicken wings ….or any other protein but catfish.

Is a shame- we were looking for a place to have monthly meetings with dinner - this isn’t it for certain. If you are going to offer a buffet then offer a buffet and quit pretending. Waste of $40 for what they offered. Keep it up and you will put yourself out of business. Maybe consider that actions like these is why your business is slow on Saturday night. Will be the last $40 you get from me.

Was asked if everything was okay when I paid - I told them again- no that fish was the only protein they had and we didn’t get here at closing time- her response was. Oh. We all Know she didn’t care if everything was okay or not. Had to get my own refills because our waitress was too busy mopping floors so she could go home...

Well I don't even know what to say about this place. I was with family and someone suggested going for BBQ about 2:30 after a funeral. I love BBQ and do a pretty good job myself with the smoker so I was excited to have some. We walk in and my stomach dropped because all they had was buffet. Not BBQ buffet but shonys style. You know what I'm talking about. Just regular buffet fare. I hate buffet! It's always the worst food. So I asked the waitress, who was very good at her job, if I could order off the menu. She said sure! Well she leaves and I take a look and I decided on ribs. I didn't like it they sold it by the pound and not half or full rack but I'll deal with it. So the girl comes back and I order the ribs. Oh she says, we don't have any. The ribs and everything else won't be done until 4. Why did she tell me I could order off the menu? So great, cudos for really fresh ribs. Other BBQ places always have some ribs. I know they are warmed up but you can do that once and it's ok. Anyway, I went to a BBQ place and had to eat buffet food. Dissapointed to...

This was my first and last visit to Bubby's. We were greeted and seated promptly, so that was good, but the waiter then failed to do his job because he just told us to help ourselves to the buffet, no menu was offered. Having never been there before, we did not know a menu was available, so we proceded to the buffet. The lettuce was turning brown. There were only about 7 crocks of choices on the salad bar. One bar was completely empty. The bbq chicken looked great, but tasted awful. What I think were cornbread patties were doughy & chewy; not tasty at all. There was shredded meat that we could add sauce to once we got back to our table, which never makes for good bbq. The fish was not good. Even the diet Dr. Pepper tasted weird. The baked beans were just okay. The mashed potatoes were okay when mixed with the baked beans to disguise the flavor (or lack of) in the mashed potatoes. The green beans were okay. The banana pudding was good. The chocolate cake was semi okay. The watermelon was not ripe. It was definitely not worth the drive from Somerset and $31...
