To start, this is not my first experience in this type of restaurant, and this one is far inferior to most of any of the other ones I have been to. We made a 7:30 reservation but did not get seated until nearly 8:00, it seems they were more concerned about first come first serve regardless of the reservations. The owner Martin Tanaka was seating people. So, we had a drink in the bar. The first thing my wife noticed was the disgusting ceiling vents that were visibly in need of cleaning because the mold and filth were caked on, and cleaning was apparently ignored for quite some time. Once seated we had to move some chairs around because my wife's chair was broken and the seat was sunken, ok no problem. We ordered as normal. Soup and salad were served. When the chef arrived, he checked everyone's order and what temperature for the steak. He mentioned something about cooking the Lobster last as apparently there was someone with a seafood allergy at the table? No question if that was OK for those affected, of course that was everyone who wanted the shrimp appetizer and of course myself and my wife, who both ordered Lobster. So, after the veggies were prepared, we waited until the family with the seafood allergy got their full meal cooked and provided while our vegetables and rice got cold. Then our seafood meals and appetizer were served at the same time …LAST! Not ideal for any meal or any restaurant and totally unacceptable. During all this time, I would have liked another drink while I was sitting there waiting, but no waitress even attempted to ask. After we finally had our meals prepared, at this point the other family was now done with eating their hot meal, our waitress was asking if anyone needed a to go box...I had just gotten my meal??? My wife just assumed she would need one, so it was provided and there she was sitting there with a to go box in hand while still eating, unbelievable! Worst experience ever at a Hibachi House. $250 later, I even paid a full tip, regardless of the terrible service, because that is what you do right? I proceeded to respond to the owner Martin Tanaka when he asked if everything was good that no, in fact it was not, and I would address that on my way out so as to not make a scene inside the dining room. I stopped at the front to speak with Martin, and he seemed completely uninterested in how our experience was less than perfect. I explained what went wrong and although he "claimed" to care, he clearly cared only about himself and our money. I commented that based on this experience I would not be returning to his restaurant, at which time he specifically stated that he did not care and why should he if I was not going to return. Is this the kind of person I would give my business to, would you? No apology, no consideration offered. I recommend NOT giving this self-centered, self-serving individual any business, regardless of the food, which was mediocre at best! Go elsewhere if you don't want to be...

Read moreWe recently celebrated my granddaughter's 14th birthday at Noboru Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish! Our party of nine was warmly welcomed, and the staff went out of their way to make our evening special. The ambiance was delightful, with a cozy and inviting atmosphere that set the perfect tone for our celebration. We started our meal with hot green tea and Kikkoman's plum wine, both of which were excellent choices to warm us up and complement the flavors of our meal. The highlight of the evening was the hibachi dinner. We ordered a variety of dishes, including hibachi shrimp, chicken, and a combination dinner with extra noodles. Each dish was cooked to perfection, with fresh ingredients and a wonderful balance of flavors. The chef put on a superb show with his impressive knife skills, entertaining us with his culinary artistry and engaging personality. To top off the evening, my granddaughter received a complimentary piece of chocolate cake for dessert, which was a sweet and thoughtful gesture that made her feel extra special on her birthday.
