THIS STORE RUINED MY LUNAR NEW YEAR EVE DINER! On the Chinese lunar New Year eve, I went to 99 ranch market in corona hills and bought three packs of dumpling wrapper (skins) BRANDED AS MYOJO GYOZA NO KAWA. WHEN I STARTED MAKING DUMPLING IN THE EVENING, I FEEL THE WRAPPER LOOKS WIRED BECAUSE THERE ARE LOTS OF STAINS ON IT (SEE PIC #2). LATER WHILE I WAS ABOUT USING 2ND PACK OF WRAPPER, I FINALLY REALIZED THE FIRST PACK IS SPOILED BADLY BECAUSE THEY LOOK VERY DIFFERENT. I DUMPED THE DUMPLINGS THAT I ALREADY MADE AND BEGIN TO MAKE SOME NEW ONE WITH 2ND AND 3RD PACK. ONCE I DONE AND START COOKING BY BOILING IT, MOST OF DUMPLINGS ARE FALLING APART IN THE WATER ALMOST RIGHT AFTER I PUT THEM IN because the wrapper is so try that is not sticky anymore! By the time of all happened, It was too late and too far to go back to market to get more dumpling wrappers and stuffing things! I WAS VERY UPSET because there was no dumpling on my 2019 New Year Eve diner table, which never happened to me in my entire 60 years of life! I am not sure how this happened and I believe the 99 Ranch Market should do a much better job on quality control unless they were trying to move the expired food simply because people need it for holiday!

This is our local 99 ranch market and we've had good shopping experiences here in the past, but we were disappointed tonight. They occasionally have a good sale where you can get an entire salmon at $4.99/lb. We were there around 8pm with very few customers waiting. There were 5 salmon displayed but of the 5, 3 were already rotten and foul. You can tell the freshness of fish by looking at the color of the gills. Red is fresh. These were light gray and had a strong stench, and the flesh was soft and mushy and about to fall apart. I asked the employee if they had more in the back because these were not good and shouldn't be sold. He seemed genuine when he said he didn't know that they were rotten, and asked me how i could tell they were bad. He went to the back to check for more and brought out 2. One was fresh and the other was bad. While he was nice, it's unfortunate that he's not trained to know when fish go bad. If you can't tell which fish is fresh, then don't buy fish here as they will sell it as is. We didn't care for the cashier tonight as she coughed at my wife without covering herself, and seemed rude and short with answering questions my wife had about the bakery.

99 Ranch Market carries many asian food items and ingredients. They focus mainly on Chinese items but you can find a little bit of everything, including Indonesian specialties. For the really obscure brands and niche items, you'll have to go to a specialty retailer though. Speaking of Chinese, is it too much to expect that their employees should be able to understand and speak conversational English? I was looking for an item and asked a couple of employees only to find out they couldn't understand me. I get it, it’s an Asian/Chinese grocery store. But it is THE MOST FRUSTRATING experience to be looked at with confusion and bewilderment when you ask an employee for help. The non-English speaking employees DO NOT CARE about helping you find items, they will simply shake their head and say they don’t have that item.

I shopped there on July 31 around 4pm, and there was a super rude worker in fish department who made me never want to go back to the store again. My mom got some fish cleaned and packed, but she had one more order in mind and she was waiting for me to translate her order to the fish guy. Then, I asked the fish guy to get me a red tilapia. He seemed pretty mad. I guessed because I did not place my order at once. However, was I not allowed to do that? He reluctantly walked to fish tank, and used the fish net to harshly stir and poked those poor fish. I had no idea why he would do that. Ok, let's assume that is how people catch a fish. When I asked him to pick me a red one, he was poking like a mad man. I said, a red one, either one is fine, and then he was still poking hard. I was not asking hime to find me a red tilapia in the ocean. There were full tank of fish, and only two colors of them. I don't think that was too much to ask. I was still being nice to him and tried to understand his crazy method of catching, and I repeated my order at least twice. Later, he looked at me and said, there is no red tilapia, this is not red. and i was like WHAT ?! FINE! It is pink, ruby, rose or whatever. Finally, I only said "never mind" and walked away. If he doesn't want to work there, he should not have the job. There are plenty people unemployed, and he should give up his job to someone who will really appreciate it. As a customer, I don't need this attitude. I rather drive 20 more miles to shop, so I can have a better shopping experience. Nowadays, there is not much entertainment in life already, so a horrible service can easily ruin a day. 99 Ranch Corona should really think about how to improve their customer service, at least train your employee!! I don't know the name of the guy. I think there were two men working at the same time. One long hair, and another slightly overweight. He is...

The 99 Ranch Market is likely the biggest Asian Market (Chinese and Filipino mostly) in Corona. I certainly don't know if it's the best, but it certainly has the size and the selection. The vegetables are great - hands-down better than other markets in the area. I love the various spices and prepared noodles they have too. There are a great many varieties of spices and noodles, both cooked and uncooked. The outside edge of part of the store has a bakery, and some fast food places too, and they're pretty good. The front of the store had small vendors, that sell things, including a jeweler that is pretty good. They sell lots of fresh fish too, and I mean they even have fish swimming in tanks, and lobsters, that you can buy on the spot.

I decided to buy some chicken. I went over to the meet section and they have lots of cut beef and chicken, packaged nicely, and attractively. The prices are competitive with other local markets, although it's likely that Stater Brothers beats them on most meat and chicken prices (not sure about fish.)

My one complaint is the smell of their chicken. It had a horrible smell when I opened the package. That brings down my rating considerably (one more star). I tried to examine it to see if it was spoiled or rotting, and it wasn't. What was the smell then? Why did it smell so bad,? Then it hit me - their butcher had cut the chicken on the same cutting table as the fish, without completely washing the scent of the fish off the table. I'm sure that the scent of the fish is fine to many people, but to me it's disgusting when it's all over chicken thighs. I was going to give a 4 star rating (my opinion only) but the scent of the fish smell on the chicken brought my rating...

Cashier rang us up for a 25 lb bag of rice instead of 50 lb. We asked her to correct it. She said it was right. We repeated ourselves, and she said she got it. When we go to leave, the receipt checker Emily says we paid for and grabbed the wrong bag. We explained the situation, and she yanked the cart saying we can't go. My 2 year old son was in the cart so we told her to not yank the cart as we were discussing the situation.

We offered to change it for 25 lb on our receipt or pay for the 50 lb. She then yanked the cart again and my son's head flopped to his shoulder. We then yelled at her for assaulting our child, went to CS for a full refund of our entire order, and filed a police report against her.

The store manager allegedly apologized, but three weeks later, the actual manager calls and says he was on leave. So why did their staff also lie to us to get us to leave? This manager then says that he spoke with this person because she did it to ANOTHER CUSTOMER TOO!

His solution was a stern conversation with her, in which he admitted to "not liking her description of the situation as it was inappropriate." But you bet she STILL works there.

I own a restaurant, typically with $600+ carts at 99 Ranch and ABC, but was shopping for personal reasons. I will now NEVER use 99 for any of our supplies again after this child assault situation. Don't support these child...
