I'm leaving my first review below so that you can read and see the difference. I've changed it from 5⭐ to 3 ⭐ and this is being very gracious after our visit today May 21st 2023. We arrived, gave our name (table for 2) sat in the waiting area and within 1 minute another person (not the hostess) came and asked us to go with her (she was holding menus) so I said "No no no we have only just been waiting one minute!" (They're were others who had been waiting longer than us. Different size parties but several parties of 2) So she asked someone else to follow her and they did. At this point I didn't know who was there for how long but as we sat there for 30 minutes I got a good feel for the order of the people as they were arriving. This lady kept on seating people with such randomness that several people left and others were trying to tell the hostess at the front that they had been waiting. The young hostesses at the front seemed a little confused and didn't know how to stop this other employee from seating people. I went up there after this lady came and sat a couple who had arrived maybe 5 minutes ago. I spoke with the young hostesses and they said that this older lady who was not a hostess (but was an employee) was kind of just taking over and seating people. I told them that I needed to have a talk with her. So I did. I explained to her that she wasn't helping by rushing to seat whoever she saw first and that I think she should let the hostesses follow the check in order they had been doing. We were then seated and ordered... my order was wrong. Just a few notes about the food: My eggs were overcooked I ordered pecan cinnamon French toast and did not get that (it was plain French toast). When the ticket came I asked our server to change the price of my French toast since I didn't get what I ordered he said he would but once I received the receipt for my signature it was the same total and by this time I just wanted to get out of there so I signed paid for what I didn't get and the servers tip reflected the discrepancy unfortunately. It was kind of a mess and I know it was busy but employees need to work together and everyone should have a set duty and not be overstepping like this older lady did with the hostesses. Initial review is still posted below.
First time here and we loved it! Yes there was a bit of a wait but we knew that coming into town. We will definitely be back to try the crab cake hash! We came back and it was even better! I ordered the spinach mushroom omelette, my son ordered the French toast combo and my mom ordered blueberry flapjacks!...
Read moreUnfortunately, today was not a good day at Chops and Eggs. Really disappointed in the service. Our server was very rude and disrespectful towards us and very sarcastic. First, he didn’t explain to us that the hashbrowns were going to be potatoes.
Secondly, we asked him for a plate, instead he gave us a skillet, and told us they were out of plates. That was a lie because another server (a woman) came right behind him and gave us a plate. The final straw was in our server threw the plate at us. We were extremely upset when he did this. He then grabbed the plate and threw it in the corner of the room. We asked to see speak to the manger. Our server who threw the plate just continued to work at the bar. He never delivered our food or even refilled our drinks. A different server who was very kind took care of us and got the manager for us. We ended up tipping her(the server). We explained to the manager how rude our server was and how he threw a plate us. We’ve been coming to Chops and Eggs since its original location and we had never had a serve who was so rude. Management heard us out and confirmed on the security that the server indeed threw a plate at us. I could hear management talking to the sever who threw the plate behind the bar. Later, as we were leaving he told us he punished our old server. I don’t know what the punishment was, but I hope the server will think twice about doing something like that again.
Update: We’ll never come back here again. My husband called to talk to management about what happened and they denied about what happened. They said “Our servers are kind and polite.” That’s not true. Management originally said that the server would be punished, but I guess all of that was a lie. Really disappointed. Lying and covering up. I’ll never eat there again.
Update #2: We gave our tip(in cash)to the server Valerie. We checked our bank statements and they added 5.00 to each of our receipts(two different tickets). We paid our tips in cash and they went on and committed fraud. We did talk to the manager Mike and he did give us our money back in cash. He said it was a mistake and they didn’t mean to add a 5.00 tip to the tickets when he had paid the tip in cash. I do not believe him.
We told Mike that we will not ever come back. We’ve always loved this place. We’ve come here for anniversaries, birthdays, and family gatherings. We continued to support them especially with what they did for the community during COVID. What happened Sunday showed me their...
Read moreOne thing I did not know about this place is that breakfast is all day and the whole menu is available at dinner. Another thing I didn't know is that after 2 children eat free. I actually found this strange because the food for the kids meal was substantial. They didn't have a kids cheeseburger so I asked to add a hamburger patty to their grilled cheese. They did with an upcharge which was basically the price of a kids meal. Normally I wouldn't have done that, but I did promise the kid specifically a cheeseburger and incorrectly assumed they would have one. I tasted his grilled cheese burger and it was pretty legit. To be completely honest I stopped here for dinner because I remembered they had fried green tomatoes after 3pm (something I read over a year ago) and really wanted some. No other place here to my knowledge has fried green tomatoes on the menu. Okay so a little brutally, the fried green tomatoes were fine but like...four of them? It costs 15 dollars as an appetizer. They were displayed in such a convoluted and unnecessary way I'm assuming to make you forget this fact. The entree I ordered was also $15 and this was incredibly reasonable. 10 oz steak, asparagus and roasted papas with a salad...$15 dollars is amazing. Why...are 4 fried green tomatoes $15 dollars? I can't get over this. A huge kids meal is free? I can't get over this. Side note but it needs to be said. The side salad was in a small skillet. OK I get that you are going for farmhouse aesthetic. But at some point I think you have to admit that a salad in a skillet is confusing and not actually farmhouse. If you absolutely have to do something for aesthetics, those wooden woven salad bowls every actual farmhouse has or like a wooden pail no actual farmhouse has, comes to mind. Also I felt bad for my waitress who had to keep refilling my drink because it was in an incredibly small cup. Kudos that it was metal though. Metal cups are super...
