First off, Food was delicious, Boba drinks were delicious as well. Service was lacking and this is why. We started our order with a young lady and then a young man pretty much swooped her aside to finish our order and it caught all of us by surprise, including the young lady who was previously taking our order. When our food came out the person bringing our food looked very confused, like wondering what table to take the order to. At this time, there were only 2 tables being occupied at the restaurant. He finally brought us our 1st appetizer and when we asked if it was the pork or chicken fried dumpling one, he didn't know. We had ordered one of each. He went to go ask the young lady who initially was taking our order, she didn't know. He went to go ask the young man who then took over our order and he didn't know so he went to go ask the one who cooked them. We finally got an answer after that. Pork was served first, then the chicken one after.
I think this could have been resolved initially by some type of numbering system for the tables. For example, "this is the fried pork dumpling, take it to table #4." It would avoid so much confusion for everyone. They did not communicate with each other at all, so they didn't truly work as a team. The entire time we were there, the person bringing out the food looked very confused.
In addition, their menu on the brochure on the table is very confusing. I can't speak over the kiosk menu or main menu hanging on the wall since we didn't order from there. Not sure if they're laid out exactly the same. Anyway, it's confusing because there are multime #1's, #2's #5's, etc., except under different categories. If everyone isn't paying real attention you will end up in some unwanted items.
We ordered two number #5's under the rice section and the plate was inconsistent. The marinade on one of the plates was very overpowering while on the other plate it was just right.
Pho was delicious.
Please take this as constructive criticism and not as a put down.
Would I return? Yes Would I recommend this place based off...
Read moreNice selection on the menu, especially since there aren't many Vietnamese Restaurants in the area. Food, it was ok to me but some dishes good to my family. The pork chop was very thick and cooked nicely. Chicken broth was a little too sweet but still good. Spring rolls were good. Egg Rolls were very good! White rice cooked well. Vermicelli Noodles cooked a little too long, too soggy. A lot of the dishes had a boiled seafood flavor to it. #28 comes with pork, but they allowed a beef substitution with an upcharge, which was nice! Ordered, Sugarcane Juice, but they were out. Ambiance and environment, very relaxed. We arrived just before dinner, so it was not busy at all and were helped very quickly. We were new, so we would've liked a little bit more time to look at the menu and not rushed to order. But at least she didn't have us waiting forever. Wait time, we were helpped within seconds of walking in. Food was complete within a few minutes. Cleanliness, it was fair. Dietary, we have food allergies and "picky eaters" in our party. The menu allowed everyone to be happy. The lady who took our order even allowed a substitution. We...
Read moreYesterday I had gone to Pho 88. It was a wonderful experience with good service and good food. They provide chopsticks, soup spoons along with sauces at the table. I got the medium rare beef and beef meatball pho, and also the rotisserie grilled chicken with rice. The Pho and meat was very filling and tender, along with a sweetness that came from the broth and onions. It was very good and filling for the price, as well as it came with extras you may want to add to the broth. Then the grilled chicken and rice came with a mini soup and fish sauce. The chicken was really tender and easy to cut, the seasoning was good but not overpowering as when dipped with the fish sauce it gave it more flavor along with the rice. It depends how you eat it but overall the whole dish tasted very good on its own and or eaten together. Lastly, the soup was very good, a good broth to end things. Overall a good experience and highly would recommend trying Pho if you haven't already. The only reason why it hasn't gotten 5 stars is because the food isn't for everyone. Everyone has there own preferences...
