As you enter the restaurant the first thing that you see is a sign that says seat yourself anywhere so I did. The booths are spacious and the wooden benches are hard but comfortable. While waiting for someone to acknowledge my presence, I looked around the restaurant. It was very clean and well lit. A long bar was off to my right where hard drinks appear to be served. I sat there for a few minutes before a server arrived to take my drink order and bring a menu. The menu is pretty standard Jalisco style food. I ordered the beef enchilada plate and a cold beer. They brought my beer and the usual chips and salsa right away. They also brought a glass of water with a lemon wedge which I thought was nice. The wait for food was a little longer than I am used to in Jalisco style restaurants but I passed the time eating chips and salsa. When the food finally arrived it was hot and fresh and looked very appetizing. The server warned me about the hot plate they often do. The food itself was not as appetizing as it appeared. It was bad tasting it was just a bit bland. The Mexican rice was underseasoned, the refried beans were underseasoned, the beef filling in the enchiladas was underseasoned. Even the enchilada sauce was on the bland side. Overall I was a little disappointed by the lack of flavor in the food. The food itself seemed to be of good quality, my beer was served very cold and the service was pleasant. I just wanted more flavor. Before leaving the restaurant I checked out the restroom and it was as clean and well lit as the rest of the restaurant. I would give the restaurant a 4/5 for atmosphere and cleanliness a 4/5 for service which was pleasant but a little slow, and a 3/5 for food that was fresh and hot but seriously lacked flavor. The price was very fair and a good value so I give it a 4/5 for value. Overall I would like to give it 4 stars but the lack of flavor brought it down to closer to 3 stars. I will give it another chance the next time I'm in the neighborhood and update my review...
Read moreHit or miss! Today was the one to many MISS and for that we will never return. We met up with a group of our family and friends after a weekend of fun in the sun on the beach for the shark tournament. We were tired and wanted good food to start us off on our long road trip back home. Boy did we regret choosing this place again. 2 weekend’s prior we had good food, service and the main thing was the fresh homemade tortillas. We thought they had made some great changes due to our previous experience. Started off having to wait long and or asking for refills to our coffee, the wait for our food took forever, 1 plate was delayed 5 minutes from all the others. Tortillas were cold and had a taste of store bought quality. Orders came out incomplete and or wrong. Taco #1 didn’t have the cheese we ordered and instead of taking it back she brought back cold cheese to add with the already cold taco. Taco #2 was chicharrón with egg al mexicana and the chicharrón was not cooked (hard and cold). Taco #3 had a hair after a few bites into it. Our Menudo was spilled upon delivery on the waitress tray and she still serves it. Juices were all under the bowl so we were left with not a lot of juice. One of the stalls in the ladies room did not have toilet paper, thank goodness I carry wipes in my purse. The waitress was all of ok not rude just personally felt she didn’t want to be there.

Read moreThe food quality was poor for most of what was offered. The chips and salsa are not fresh, and they cut their guacamole ($5.99 for a small bowl!) with sour cream, which tasted disgusting. They use too much oil in their cooking so your fajitas will be drenched. Rice is flavorless, same with the refried beans. The water (and drinks made with the same water) tasted very odd. The only thing that wasn't a disappointment in regard to the food was the flour tortillas, which I was told is actually bought through a restaurant supplies company (not made in house).
The service was so-so. Our waiter was friendly, however a group of employees sat around chatting for a while before noticing our party looking around waiting to be seated, before one of them said "sit anywhere." They continued to sit around and chat for the duration of our visit, and when it was time to pay no one came to my table or provided instructions that we were to bring the receipt to the register near the bar, so after waiting several minutes with my card out I wandered over there and asked if I could pay. The man ringing us up asked how everything was, I gave him some honest feedback (not as thorough as this review, just a couple comments) however he didn't offer any condolences or comps for the part of the meal that didn't meet our expectations, so it makes me wonder if they actually care about their customers...
