Whataburger — Restaurant in Corpus Christi

I have lived in Corpus Christi my entire life. And when I tell you this is one of the WORST whataburger in corpus, I mean it. Generally whataburger is pretty good. However this location is absolutely horrible for the following reasons. Customer service: the customer service is absolutely terrible. People here are NOT friendly, always give attitudes, and lack the ability to do something as basic and greet you appropriately. Quailing control: EVERY time I have come here (dozens of times) the fries are ALWAYS cold and old. Even when I ask for fresh fries, they are always below average. You would think that it just makes sense to have consistent turn over of fries to ensure quality is always high. Not the case here. Have gotten a Bob several times as well and it is typically either undercooked or overcooked, bacon is soggy, buns are wet with grease, and just overall not good tasting like what I’m used to at other whataburgers. The honey butter chicken biscuit I usually get is always lacking in sauce and the chicken strips are rock hard with very little meat inside. Wuality control is very obviously systematically terrible here. Which leads me to believe this is a leadership issue with lack of enforcement of policies and standards. Which brings me to my next point. Lack of attention to detail: like others have mentioned, you will almost ALWAYS be missing something from your order. I’ve been missing over the years the following things that I have specifically asked for, fries, spicy ketchup, regular ketchup, straws, even basic napkins, a whole order of burgers. They very obviously have too much focus on quantity and how quick they can get food out and not quality. Which really needs to be a balance. Lack of leadership: there is obviously a lack of appropriate leadership at this location for this to be happening so consistently throughout the years. Notice the lack of response from any managers on the poor reviews on google. They obviously do not care. This Whataburger is literally the laughing stock of corpus. Certainly does not operate under the values of what whataburger was built on.

Conclusion: something seriously needs to be done about this place. I can guarantee that anytime I go to this location, I will be disappointed in one way or another. I’ve started making the drive to the whataburger on ennis joslin due to the consistent issues with this location. I WILL be writing to whataburger corporate and will request a thorough audit to be completed by their leadership team for this location. This whataburger needs to be managed up or managed out....

WORST whataburger we have ever been to and we have been to a lot! As soon as you walk in you could smell raw sewage and there were literally flies around the bathroom. What made it worse there was no handsoap and one of the stalls were out of order. The trash can in the dining room was spilling on the floor. I had informed the manager at this point of the restroom being out of handsoap. THEN the food came out, The burgers were so drenched in mustard that it was inedible. I like mustard but not to the point of soaking in the bun. The kids wouldn't even eat it and my kids will eat anything, I had to remove the bun and let them eat the meat which we had to use paper towels to wipe the mustard bath off. At this point I should have complained to the manager but instead thought let it go. Before we left we decided to get milshakes in hopes to perk the visit up which came out completely melted and disgusting- again didn't even drink them. As I was rinsing the watered down funky tasting dr. Pepper out of the cup and refilling with water I told the manager about the milkshakes since she was standing next to me and she was the one who made them. She did offer to remake them but we refused I could take another let down at this point. • update 6-4-2025 ** Reduced the number of stars due to morning shift leader/manager. Atmosphere has been very friendly untill today. It seems that same manager is back to doing what she doing before the remodel. I was sitting, having my breakfast and watching the crew. They were not the usual smiling and friendly crew. They kept looking over thier shoulders to see where she was at. Like they afraid to say anything nice. Manager got snippy at two of the employees and my wife. She is need of retraining in customer service, again. She has single handidly ruined the pleasant atmosphere of this location. There are other places to eat. Next time she gets snippy to wife, who is a customer, it will be the last time to visit Whataburger Waldron Road................

WOW, what a change this time around. Been visiting this location for over 4 years, its the best its ever been. Got the breakfast sandwich this morning at the drive-thru. I opened it up, and steam came out, it was so hot and fresh. They recently remodeled and must have done more. Seems the staff was even more courteous than usual, cheerfull and more organized.
