If you’re craving authentic Mexican food with flavors that transport you straight to the heart of Jalisco, look no further than El Gallo de Jalisco. This hidden gem is a true treasure in the local dining scene, and once you find it, you’ll wonder how it managed to stay under the radar for so long. El Gallo de Jalisco might be off the beaten path, but it’s well worth the visit. Whether you’re a fan of traditional Mexican dishes or looking to try something new, this restaurant will not disappoint. It’s the kind of place that once you find it, you’ll want to tell everyone—but at the same time, keep it your little secret. Truly, an unknown gem that’s bound to become your go-to spot for Mexican cuisine.

The Atmosphere: From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the warm and inviting vibe of a true family-run establishment. The decor is humble yet full of character, with vibrant colors, traditional Mexican artwork, and a few touches of Jalisco pride that make you feel like you’ve stepped into someone’s home.

The Food: The food here is nothing short of spectacular. Every dish bursts with authenticity and flavor, reminding you why Mexican cuisine is beloved worldwide.

The Service: The service here is top-notch. The staff is incredibly friendly and eager to share their love for the cuisine. Whether you’re a regular or a first-timer, they’ll make you feel like family. Don’t be surprised if the owner stops by your table to check on you or to share the story behind your dish—it’s that kind of place.

The Drinks: Don’t miss out on their horchata or agua de jamaica, both refreshing and perfectly sweetened. If you’re in the mood for something stronger, their margaritas are made with fresh ingredients and pack just the right punch.

The Prices: For the quality and authenticity of the food, the prices at El Gallo de Jalisco are more than fair. You’ll leave with a full belly and a full wallet, which is a rare...

We are regular customers of this restaurant in Flour Bluff & it used to be good but recently it seems to go down consistently. The worst experience we have had was on Thursday morning when we ordered our usual order which was two megas breakfast plates, one with flour & one with corn tortillas & 2 crispy tacos. After an unusual waiting time the young lady handed our order out the window & as we drove away my grandson said, "Wait a minute, I think we only have one order." We returned & he took out order inside & after a time, during which the attendant was very irritable about his complaint, we got the second order. When we ate the food we discovered that both orders were with flour tortillas with one corn tortilla. But the worst part was that the Spanish rice had a strong taste of dish soap. Unfortunately we ate it anyway & both had a bad case of diarrhea that night. This is not the first problem we have had recently with this restaurant & consequently we"re seriously doubting we will ever go...

First of all, I’m not the one to leave bad reviews often, if ever. I was so disappointed in this place. My husband, 3 kids, and I walked in around noon to eat lunch. The waiter walked up and said nothing, MAYBE he asked “drinks?” under his breath, but I didn’t hear. Fast forward to me getting my tacos Mexicanos plate. Didn’t come with a jalepeno, beans were hard, meat was chewy and hard. I asked for the jalepeno that was supposed to come with my meal, and he came back with a hard one that wasn’t cooked. The waiter gave us our ticket when he served the food. My toddlers food was served last, way after everyone else got theirs. My husbands coffee wasn’t refilled till right before we left. My husband mentioned the beans being hard when he went up to pay and they shrugged it off like they didn’t care. People hype this place up all the time and I got a HORRIBLE experience. Never...

Happy accident, we ended here for lunch , went to Chinese buffet nearby , but they were closed. I am so happy. I ordered chicken flautas, and my husband had chicken fajitas. My flautas were outstanding. Some places have very dry chicken , this was moist and had a great flavor. Perfect crisp. Good beans , I liked the chips , especially the flour ones. The table hot sauce had great flavor , it was a little hot for me to just scoop on my chips , but I did put it on my food. My husband did like his fajitas but did not like the homemade corn tortillas , the center was done, but the edges were tough.

I love chickens, especially when they are alive and roaming free. However, if we didn't fry their eggs, and cook them too, this planet would be overrun with the little clickers. El Gallo De Jalisco cooks the perfectly, I'd give them five stars, but the fifth star is for exceptional businesses, these folks are as close as they can be to that.

Cute little restaurant with a statue of a huge rooster in the parking lot. Friendly service. The chips and salsa were good. I had the cheese enchiladas, and it comes with beans and rice. My husband had the carne asada, and it came with charro beans, guacamole, pico, and rice. We both had the homemade corn tortillas. Food was delicious.
