It's interesting that the first time I came over I wasn't impressed but the second I came by I kinda enjoyed the food here. The place is in a mall so parking shouldn't be difficult. It's easy to make a reservation online but there is probably not a need to as I havent found it difficult to get seating. Most of the people ordered to go so there is usually some seating available. The seating at the patio seems to be more popular but because the location can get really hot I prefer it indoors. The people working here are usually really young and they do try their best and I'm impressed that they cleaned up without feeling grossed out by the leftover food. I really enjoyed the ribs and the sauces are great. The sausages are not bad either but I think pork ribs are the best chicken on the menu. It can be a little dry without the sauce but that's why the sauces are available. Although they charge for sauces when you order to go but you can ask for sauce when you take leftovers after dining in. I like the vibe of the restaurant even though it doesn't seem like a good fit for the decor of the overall shopping center. Overall I'd say I've had better BBQ but in the Bay Area this is good enough if you miss BBQ.

I happen to be an avid Smoker and BBQ enthusiast. Traveled and attended competitions all over the USA. I find many restaurants that attempt brisket fall short. This brisket was by far one of the best outside of Texas and the midwest I have been to. The bark ring went deep into the meat, and the meat was very moist and tender. My second favorite was the Mac and cheese. Perfect amount of creamy cheese and the noodles were perfect. I also sampled some ribs, cornbread, and coleslaw. The ribs would were full of flavor. The cornbread seemed to have some jalapeños I believe in them, but so suttle even a person with the those sensitive to spice would have enjoyed them. The service was quick and friendly. This location is in a bustling outdoor mall with many other places to see. Highly recommend. I do not think I have rated a Bbq establishment a 5 in the past. They are worthy of it, though.

Perfect—here’s an updated casual review that includes the friendly staff, housemade sauces, and the to-go sauce urns: ⸻ Stopped by Pig in a Pickle for a quick BBQ fix and was really impressed. The pulled pork sandwich was tender and packed with flavor, and the 1/4 rack of baby back ribs was juicy and fell right off the bone. Sides didn’t disappoint—ranch-style beans were hearty, and the cornbread was warm, moist, and just the right amount of sweet. Ended on a high note with the rich and silky butterscotch pudding. Big shoutout to the super friendly staff—they made the whole experience feel extra welcoming. And the housemade sauces are a major win. Loved the self-serve urns so you can sample as much as you want or take some to go. Definitely planning to come back and try more!

We were about 10 people, 9 of us meat eaters. (3 people aged 77 to 82.) I asked the meat eaters to rate how good the food was. They said 5 out of 10; meat was dry and sauce was too watery. It didn’t compare to barbecue in the south.

I however am greatly disappointed in the service. The people walking food out to the tables were good. But the woman (aged 40s-50s, long dark hair) was no bueno. I told her that I did have outside food because I am Vegan; I was trying to be respectful. Instead of letting this go, as our group was spending a lot of money, she argued with me. It was obvious she was being dictatorial so I started to walk away, but she kept talking! I told her I got it, that she wasn’t being flexible.

The woman told me that they have Vegan food (which isn’t on the menu), and when I asked if it was prepared in a meat-free area, she tried to say the food I bought wasn’t, like she works there too and knows? (I ordered a little steamed rice wrap with raw vegetables inside of it.)

Again, we were 10 people spending plenty of money. And, the woman tried to say we could just sit at tables throughout the mall…all the tables nearby had sun hitting them! I checked before people chose a food establishment; none were together; and I wasn’t about to make my 82 year old barely walking father walk out to tables further away. PLUS, I was the only one not ordering food from this place. (I even ordered $4 lemonade there, so you did get my money.)

The fact that 10 of us could sit near each other in the back was good. My lemonade was good. The ambiance wasn’t great. Smelled like fleshy death.

Not happy. No reason to go back or recommend this place to...

Easily some of the best BBQ I've ever had, but if that's not enough (you don't know my father so you're going to have to either bail on this being a powerful recommendation, or you're going to have to implicitly trust it), my father says it's easily the best beef brisket he's ever had. WHOAH AMIRITE. No for real, he's a master BBQ'er.

Seriously, just the best and friendliest service, the bartender really know their beers, and there's wine for people like me. =) Justin is absolutely the best. Hard working, knowledgeable, friendly, service oriented, and he didn't even care I called him the wrong name forever. What's more, he does seem to sample beers, to confirm an older review seems inaccurate. It feels like Cheers when you walk in, with the most heavenly smells.

Hot Links and Pulled Pork is my thing. Most people say the brisket is the best and it is... end of sentence. I mean, you don't have to trust me or my pop. I LOVE THE MAC AND CHEESE AND I DON'T USUALLY EAT STUFF LIKE THAT I AM YELLING.

The chips are tasty, the collard greens are a staple every time. They have a bunch of sauces, like a spicy BBQ, and the best dip sauce ever (vinegar.. is that south carolina?).

We're regulars and gluttons, eat in, take it out. Oh.. for those that care, this expert but low key (great friendly interiors and bar area, tho) BBQ joint literally won a Michelin award, the newer "Bib Gourmand" to highlight places with incredible, affordable food, with great service, that doesn't require a driver for the Rolls Royce and a Swiss bank account. Cheers to these guys. HUGE addition to southern Marin, where we are still desperate for some...

We were looking forward to a outdoor patio lunch at PIP. Sadly, we overheard a woman (be it owner, manager or staff) with zero customer service skills loudly chastising a group of four other customers who were trying to lock their bikes before eating (not our group). The restaurant wasn't busy. The group of cyclists were polite and willingly accomodated her request to find a different spot but sounded puzzled and put off by how she addressed them (which was with disdain and a needless angry tone.) Following that, the same woman came over and scolded a member of our group pf three, who (heaven forbid) added to her meal with another item not from PiP. The way the owner/manager/staff handled such an "egregious" breach was to tower over the guest and loudly berate her. With a mere sliver of people skills the owner/manager/staff could have made her point without alienating everyone within earshot. This is the kind of management that drives away customers. I sat in silence watching it all unfold. Communication folks! They just lost seven customers. Oh, btw the food items were lousy with one exception I just read a similar bad experience described in another review -- not a coincidence. Her attitude poisoned what might have been a...
