I have been a long-time customer of Philz, from Berkeley store since i stayed in the baby area, and now this Mill Calley store after I moved to Marin. Coffee is always good, food is great but I can never understand why staff here is SO RUDE. It's been twice already that I was talked down to by their staff. 1st incident I reached for a cinnamon jar left out on their counter, was told by a staff literally :"NOPE NOPE NOPE PUT THAT BACK" as he stared me down like I was a 3 yo child. Here is sth you can do: put the jars away, or put note saying "staff only", or you can just not leave them on the counter, OR you can politely ask your paying customer to put them back where they belong. Don't have to be so rude? 2nd incident I placed a mobile order to be picked up at 7am but wouldn't make it due to unexpected traffic on the way. I called the store at 7am asking if my order was ready, thinking if it's not done yet, I could ask staff to delay making it. Nobody wants their iced coffee to sit on the counter for 40 minutes, getting all watered down. The staff: "WeLl I DON'T knoW, I jUst WAlked in. Oh It'S rEady, you plAced orDer to be reAdy at 7, so It SHOUld be reaDy at 7, SHOULDNT IT?!?" I was flabbergasted at the freaking sass anf attitude. Dude I'm only asking if my order was ready, if not then delay it, if it's ready then nvm, i will take watered down coffee since i placed the order at 7 and couldn't make it. Freaking chill out lol. But a side note, maybe you can get a mini fridge, so you put ICED mobile order in there and keep it fresh. It's not that uncommon for stores to have that since I've seen it at other coffee/boba shops i go to. I mean, do you care to deliver the freshest, best tasting cup of coffee to your...
Read morePhilz is pretty good coffee. My biggest gripe about Philz is buying just a cup at the store is way too expensive. Interestingly enough, their price for whole bean coffee by the pound is quite reasonable. Bought a pound of the Philtered Soul to make at home with a French press, the results have been excellent. I recommend buying Philz beans to make coffee at home and save a whole lot of money in the process ☕😋🤑 Update: went to this Philz just the other day ordered a Tesora. Tasted really awful, asked for a different flavor, the barrista suggested Silken Splendor, that was really bad too. Either that barrista has no idea what she's doing or the quality control at this location is not very good. Considering the sky high prices they charge they should be making fantastic...
Read moreI walked in two hours before closing and wasn’t acknowledged until after 5 minutes of waiting at the counter. They were very dismissive when taking my order. After I finally got my food. I proceeded to wait for 25 minutes for my coffee and ended up waking out empty handed. I came in during my lunch break during work, exhausted only to be treated rudely and it wasn’t even worth it as I didn’t get the coffee I payed for. I watched plenty of people that ordered AFTER ME in line get their coffee and walk out while I sat there and not wanting to be treated badly again, patiently, quietly waited for my coffee.
If you have any where to be within 30 minutes of ordering, I wouldn’t even bother. You might be forced to leave without any coffee or even being...
