Small, filthy, and not at all what I expected from the online menu. Not Mediterranean food. Some Americanized disaster that tastes like it the food is about to or has just gone bad. The french fries are good, but that's it. I talked to the lady working by herself, since she started off by telling us that the boy she had close the night before hadn't cleaned. She started working here in August of 2023 and started implementing changes like adding pepperocinis to the dolmas and added nontraditional ingredients to the lamb stew. She said her previous experience was working in a Chinese restaurant.

I got a lamb gyro, which is something I have ordered from dozens of Mediterranean and Greek restaurants all over the country. Never once did the gyro come with nearly spoiled meat that was drowned in some strange brown sauce with cooked onions on a bed of french fries placed atop a store bought pita anywhere but here. And why the hell does it cost an extra $1.50 each for olives and feta?! Those are supposed to come on the gyro! The hummus was a strange consistency and seemed to have sesame seeds or something in it. The dolmas were sloppy and soggy.

As I sat there trying to 'enjoy' (endure) this meal, she began taking chunks of meat from an improperly stored container and skewering them onto a spit. I stopped eating at that point. I have worked in a Greek restaurant before and never saw something so disgusting.

To top it all off, my friend and I spent $50 on food that should have been half that price when made fresh and correctly. There was no light, fresh flavors that one would expect. It had the feel and flavors of an old, greasy fast food joint.

I highly recommend going anywhere else. I can see now why the reviews have gotten so bad over the last several months. The lady said the owner lives in Hawaii. Perhaps the owner should pay a visit before this place runs itself out...

I'm guessing anyone who gives this place a good review has never been to Greece or Australia where the other half of Greeks live. Lamb Gyro! where is the lamb? its like some cooked ground meat that bears no resemblance to lamb. And fries in the pita, what is that? Skip the salads, I don't think the most ardent vegetarian would eat them. Okay let me tell you what a Gyro is pronounced Yeerr-ohh like Hero not ji-ro as in gyroscope. It is Pita bread filled with a choice of chicken, lamb, pork, beef, Falafel or other vegetarian filling with some nice fresh lettuce, tomato, onion etc and a choice of humus or Tsaktsiki sauce. Oh and how hard is it to pronounce Tsatsiki, well not even Michael Simon Iron Chef who is Greek can pronounce it. So I have a little trick that might help you. split the word up pronounce the last syllables first T-zee- kee Then the first T-zat , keeping the T-z together as one letter do that a few times then try T-zat-zee-kee. Anyway normally in Greece the choice is pork or chicken because this is street food and people are not well off, In Australia Lamb is very cheap like chicken, and it is the preferred meat but it is real slices of lamb roasted on the vertical grill, so please if you like this food at Alley Gyro, just letting you know its Greek by name only and nothing like a Gyro, the staff don't even speak Greek....

I rarely post reviews, but this one was too bad to not post. If you value your money and time, I do not recommend this place. I was so excited to find a Greek restaurant and placed an order online. I showed up 20-30 minutes later, at the time the order should’ve been ready. When I get in the door, the worker said she didn’t receive an order. So I showed her my email confirmation and she looked confused but then said they don’t have any falafel. I’m vegetarian. So yay. But I figured I’d rather get something than have to navigate a refund with this place so I switched it to chicken (at least my partner can eat it). Meanwhile another guy comes in and asks about his order and it’s the same deal. Both of us had used the recommended ordering website and she seemed to have no idea what we were talking about. While I was waiting, I was cringing while noticing all the health code violations going on. The place is a mess, plus there’s nowhere to sit if there’s another group of people in there. I immediately regretted not cancelling my order but it was too late.

Basically, save your money and get food anywhere else. I waited 50 minutes for a subpar gyro that I...

The staff were nice, so this is not a complaint based on service. But the food was disgraceful. This used to be one of my favorite hidden gems in Corvallis. But this time we ordered a lamb gyro plate and lamb gyro wrap and we were very disappointed with both items. So much so that if I hadn’t paid in cash, I would have submitted a stop payment with my credit card company. You see, there was no meat! Not a single chunk of lamb. There were tiny bits of shredded lamb, but so little that it was hard to see or taste the lamb at all. All I could taste were the French fries and tzatziki sauce. Gyros are supposed to be focused on the meat (or falafel) not the vegetable and sauce toppings. Without meat (or falafel) IT IS NOT A GYRO. I don’t eat out much these days because of how expensive everything has become. So when I do eat out, I have very high expectations. Here is a pic from two years ago and a pic from yesterday. There used to be meat. Now all you can see are French fries. It’s a true shame that the owners let this business fail. $30 down the tube.

It's common wisdom that the harder a restaurant is to see, the better the food is. Such is the case at Alley Gyros. Tucked away in the eponymous alley, this feels easy to miss unless you're "in the know." Do yourself a favor and find yourself in the know. The gyros are deliciously spiced, with your choice of a myriad of toppings and sauce (please, the garlic pickles are a must-have), and large enough to sate appetites without weighing you down, as can be common in many gyro places. The fries were, as always, a perfect complement to the jubilee of flavors, and the Athens Plate added a yummy mix of additives to enjoy with either. Grab a drink, snag a seat if you feel so inclined, and enjoy some of the best Gyros I've had the pleasure of tasting!

I don’t usually leave reviews of places, but this was pretty bad. The actual taste of the Gyros were fine though the interior of the place was questionable. The ‘highlight’ of this being my first visit was an actual wingnut in my Gyro! Had I not seen it this place may have been paying my dental bills. Not only unsanitary but genuinely dangerous had I bitten into metal expecting soft lamb. Yes that photo is real, I am shocked and disgusted. Will not be coming back here again! Also, a little less notable, the fries were terrible, soggy, cold, limp, and greasy.
