When I think of Banh Mi sandwiches, I think of all the times my parents bought it for me during my elementary school trips. I think of all the times we ate it during the car on the way to Vegas. I think of all the times we snuck it into Universal Studios and Disneyland.
Baguette's Banh Mi sandwiches instantly takes me back to those times. The toasted bread, the pickled carrots, the cucumber, the cilantro, jalapeños but MOST importantly, the pork pate!!!
Since I moved to Corvallis 9 months ago, we went here at least 2 times a week. We always get the same thing I get when I was a kid. The cold cut original Chả lụa (Viet Ham). It is a sort of pork sausage with a fishy umami taste. Now I also lean toward the daring, which has head cheese. It has this jelly like texture that is OH so good. I also heard that their beef lemongrass and other sandwiches are just as good.
On the side note, I usually get some sort of side dish such as the spring rolls, pork buns, or Vietnamese ice coffee. They are pretty good but the star of the show are their Banh Mi sandwiches.
Corvallis should be proud to have such great Banh Mi...
Read moreBaguette has been one of my all time favorite places to eat for years and years now. Bahn Mi is my comfort food. My favorite is the curry tofu, even though I am not strictly vegetarian. They cook the tofu perfectly. They cook everything perfectly. The beef is always tender and my mouth is watering thinking about all the dishes they offer. Love their char siu bao and sweet bean bao too! Can’t forget the Thai iced tea or roasted coconut water to wash it down. I budget in one lunch from them per week so I can have my favorite comfort food. When not feeling my best, I opt for their soups, which always sit right. I have the tism tummy and always do the happy dance when I get to have their food. The owners and staff are the nicest people one could ever meet, and the love really shows in their dishes. 10/10 will always recommend. In fact, I’m ordering some right now! A gem in the heart of Corvallis, you won’t want to miss out on the chance to have your tastebuds treated to anything on...
Read moreI have been stopping in to this family ran Vietnamese restaurant for nearly ten years and have never once had anything except an excellent experience. I have been to other restaurants which advertise the same sandwiches but have always left disappointed when comparing it to the quality and service of Baguette in downtown Corvallis. All of there sandwiches are delicious but the grilled chicken on a whole wheat baguette is a must have for anyone making a first time visit. The family who operate this restaurant are charming and always provide outstanding service. To top it off there prices are extremely generous considering the quality they offer, there convenient location, and the other dining options available in the area. If your considering a quick bite, or just want to give your taste buds a treat, make it a priority to visit this...
