This is the nicest hotel in Corvallis. It’s in a great location by the river and Second Street, a great spot for strolling, shops, cafes and a fine hometown bookstore to name a few. ||The hotel itself is quite a find! It’s new and is a green facility. The hotel is safe and secure with an extra layer of security needed to access the room floors. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable-especially the bed. The beds are made NORMALLY. They’re not folded, tucked, pulled, and forced into a tight “pretty” bed that is hard to get into, hard to pull the sheets down and difficult to cover oneself much above the shoulders. These normally made beds are comfortable, toasty and don’t require that you remake them to use them. MAJOR points for that! The room temps are constant and steady. We didn’t need to adjust the temperature settings one time during our stay. The abundance of USB outlets is an excellent feature. They’re easily accessed and charge at a reasonably crisp rate. The lighting in the rooms is perfect and like other reviewers, I recommend a room with a view of the river. The availability of breakfast and dinner is a big plus. Dinner looks great as does the bar. Some fellow guests I met on the elevator spoke glowingly about dinner and the bar. I didn’t make it to dinner, but the breakfast burrito I had the morning we left was quite good along with the freshly brewed Starbucks cuppa joe. The staff at breakfast was attentive, friendly and did a really good job. Frankly every staff member we encountered was a fine representative for this hotel.||Be prepared to be a bit confused upon arrival as it is absolutely not clear how one gets to an entrance. There is no parking where someone might think the main entrance is.|THE MAIN ENTRANCE IS NOT ON FIRST STREET.|Regardless of what anyone tells you, that entrance-looking line of glass doors with the turnstile door and the sign above them that says “THIS IS A BIG ‘OL ENTRANCE” you’ll see driving by is not an entrance unless you are a pedestrian. Access is down the alley between First and Second Streets and through a smaller set of glass doors. Upon finding your way in, the check-in desk(s) is(are) around the corner and is(are) nothing like most hotel front desks. They look like individual kiosks instead. The front-end staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Be advised, the hotel offers no valet parking and no bell service. This is difficult for those of us that are handicapped or otherwise physically compromised. Please be aware that YOU will be parking and horsing around your own luggage. The easy thing (sorta) is that we were able to park in handicapped parking that is situated directly in front of the elevators. They do provide luggage carts in the elevator lobby. Speaking of the parking garage, it has a particularly steep entrance ramp that at one point your only view is of the ceiling of the parking garage. Beware of that. ||Couple of things we had a bit of a concern over. The room had been sorta vacuumed in that there was a clean main area, but there was a line of crumbs and dust-bunny’s around the base of the bed and visible around baseboards and the kickplates around the desk. Not a big deal, but a bit surprising. The truly surprising thing that brought these folks to a 4 dot review instead of the 5 dots I really wanted to award them was the used soap awaiting me in the shower soap dish. That’s not a great look.||This is by far the best choice for lodging in Corvallis. Now that we know the ins and outs, we’ll definitely stay here on our many trips to Corvallis. You...
Read moreFirst things first, this hotel is a stunner. Everything is extremely clean, stylish, and comfy. The parking is easy and easily accessible. The market was well stocked, the restaurant was lovely, and the outdoor terrace area (with fire pits; looking over the river) was splendid.
My wife and I recently spent a night here for our anniversary. Instead of the usual Portland or Seattle evening out we decided to stay more local to us (from Salem, Oregon). This hotel put us right in the middle of the action of downtown Corvallis. We were near dozens of bars and restaurants, and had prime access to all we could have hoped for. The room had a wraparound balcony that overlooked the terrace and river. Truly gorgeous, and a very special view (a large portion of the rooms look out over the river).
Inside the room, the bathroom was spacious and had a very nice rainfall shower. The room was extremely comfortable and cozy, and featured an extremely comfortable bed. Also had one of the coolest and most comfortable couches I've sat on in a long time. Very stylish and comfy. The TV connected to various streaming apps and YouTube, and we were able to enjoy some "30 Rock" on Netflix before bed.
The real highlight of this location is the staff. The most helpful, courteous, and kind hotel staff that I've come across in a very long time. They helped with some extra special celebratory elements for our anniversary and were extremely helpful whenever I asked for recommendations. Within the last couple of years I've stayed at Courtyard Marriot hotels in Seattle, Boston, and Minneapolis. This Corvallis property blows them all away. Believe it or not, there is a true destination hotel in...
Read moreI was traveling with family and without reservations for this part of the trip. Our plan was to stay in Grants Pass but we wanted a nicer hotel so we looked online when we stopped for dinner. I am a Marriott member so I was able to find what we needed in Corvallis and we were so happy with the room. By the time we arrived at the hotel they were sold out for the evening. The hotel is about 10 miles off I5 but it was an easy drive and navigation had no issues finding it. The front lobby was a bit more difficult to locate as it is down an alley but we parked on the side street and walked in. There might be signage that we missed since we arrived after dark.
The beds are amazing and so comfortable! My sister had the best nights sleep of the entire week long trip. Any staff that we encountered were polite, friendly, and professional. Diedre at the front desk was very upbeat and friends at 5:30 in the morning when I was wandering the lobby looking for coffee, she offered to get me a cup and had it ready within minutes.
The location is perfect for walking to restaurants, Safeway, and along the river. There were a few folks sleeping on the benches but it didn't feel unsafe.
We didn't use the pool or fitness room but they had both, they also had a terrace with firepit on the 4th floor for guests to use.
The hotel has safety features in the elevator and stairwells that do not allow passage to the guests rooms without a key card.
We would stay in this location again if we were in the area! Next time hopefully we can explore the town and enjoy some of the local attractions. We did go to Wisecracks for breakfast, walkable from the hotel and great food for...
