I really wanted to love this place. While eating at the establishment across the street my hubby and I googled your menu..we didn't even realize you were in the square. So, I had it in my mind to check your establishment out someday in the near future. My hubby was out of town for an out of state emergency and I went solo with my daughter and three grandchildren and suggested your place. Even though it was a special time, since corydon was having the Halloween parade and lots of food venders in the street. I thought you all would have been busy but to our luck you only had 3 tables being used so we sat in the back near the bar area. Our waitress was nice took our order. While we waited we couldn't help but notice several of the staff..cooks and waitresses in the kitchen horseplaying around which moved into the bar area. Didn't bother me much, but it seemed to delay our food, we had a long long wait. We even noticed they just left our food sitting on the bar area to finish up their personal conversation. As a waitress in my previous years, thats not how you treat your customers. I've never eaten at your food truck or restaurant before so I was looking forward to trying it out. We ordered several meals. My daughter and I enjoyed your Brussel sprouts the most. The kids chicken kids meal was a hit but not the macaroni and cheese. The fries I found to be good with the seasoning (lots of pepper)but the kids found it too spicy. I wish I would have known, I would have ordered them plain. Fish was OK.I've been on a search for really good fish locally and it didn't fit my idea of really good fish..Your restaurant was out of ketchup which I found odd since you serve fries and hamburgers. Not sure I'll be back. My husband doesn't tolerate staff horseplaying around, while we're spending our hard earned money to go out and enjoy each other's company.I spent $78.00 for two fish meals two kids meals and a side of fried pickles and sodas. Yes, I left a tip, waitress was nice.. but I usually tip much higher. I just didn't feel like your staff wanted us there eating tonight. I should have asked for my receipt because I also feel I was over charged while thinking about what we actually bought while writing this review.
Horrible experience from the time we walked in. My family of 4 visited the Corydon location this evening for dinner. We were not greeted when we walked inside, and there was no signage to indicate how to be seated. On our own, we started to venture into the dining area. We were finally noticed and then told to sit anywhere we could find a table. 2 different people were tending to our table. I understand that tables are shared but that leaves no one person accountable to ensure proper table service and is confusing for your customers. We were there at least 20 minutes before someone took our food order. The beer cheese was gritty, fried pickles were saturated in grease and the ranch tasted soured. Dipping sauces were missing, we were given no paper towels and our drinks were never refilled. We asked about said needed items (multiple requests) yet we were always forgotten. I had nasty hands from my burger for at least a full 5 minutes before retrieving my own paper towels from the restroom. The missing dipping sauce was only given to us when we walked to the bar to ask a third time. I’m pretty easy going so it takes a lot of for me to post a review like this. I hope this was a one off deal but I can’t say that will try it again...
Read moreWas REALLY hoping for a good restaurant in the downtown Corydon area, but this is not it. Place is basically empty (we ate dinner fairly early though) was told to sit wherever, when we walked in. Paper towels you’d find in a bathroom, are sitting on the table with some menus, and the back area of the restaurant looks like a stock room.
Wings were just okay, fried pickles were over cooked, all the breading was separating from the pickle, and my kids chicken bites were so overcooked they couldn’t eat them. The real tragedy was that Mac n cheese though. It tasted awful, like something that would come on a jail tray or be served at a school. The microwaveable kind tastes better than that.
Server wasn’t rude or anything; but wasn’t super friendly either. Hate to leave a negative review here, but IDK how it’s going to make it.
I always read reviews when searching for a new place to eat. If you’re like me, trust the reviews....
