Jack in the Box — Restaurant in Costa Mesa

Good location for a fast food place; near a busy intersection and with lots of natural light coming through the windows and small palm trees outside giving a little touch of green to the view. Came at 6pm and no waiting to order inside and only took a couple of minutes for my order to be ready; perfect timing for me to quickly use the restroom (and wash hands, of course!). Most customers probably ordered through the drive-thru, as I only saw one family and a few individuals come into the restaurant to order while I was there (and they all ordered to go!). Food was consistent with what you would expect from a Jack in the Box. I ordered the Jumbo Jack Combo, no upsizing. Fries were crispy without being burnt and lightly salted - perfect for me. Freestyle soda machine meant I could get whatever flavor drink I preferred and could refill as often as I wanted. Si solo habla español, no problema; los trabajadores hablan español y inglés. If you order food in drive-thru, CHECK YOUR ORDERS EVERY TIME! It’s rare that when I pick up food from here & the individuals working at the window hand me my food & it’s right. There have been MANY instances where I get handed my food, the individuals immediately close the window, & walk away, & as I am checking, I 98.9% of the time have to wait there for someone to come back, for me to ask them “Where is the rest of my food?” & when I do, I get their snotty attitude towards me. Like honestly, how are you giving me attitude, when I am asking for my food, that I paid for…? I wish I can go somewhere else, but frankly, this is literally the Jack in the box that is down the street from my house. I have eaten at many Jack in the Box restaurants. I usually love them. The team members are friendly, the restaurant is clean, and the food is delicious. This, however, was the worst. The staff who took my order was so short with me as to be rude. Without another customer in sight (it was after 7 on a Tuesday) she was so rushed that it appeared she was mad at me for being there. There was no ice in the machine, and I had to ask for some at the front- I got the same treatment. Upon sitting down, I looked at the ceiling which was absolutely disgusting. I had to take a picture. After looking around, I realized they don't actually like people being there. It was one of the most unwelcoming fast food places I've ever been to. I recommend going a bit further down the street...
