Sunright Tea Studio - Costa Mesa — Restaurant in Costa Mesa

I've had Sunright bookmarked for what felt like a solid year, but I was visiting my office in Costa Mesa and thought it was a perfect time to give them a try. My boyfriend and I have been huge boba fans throughout the pandemic. We were literally having a beverage at least once a week haha.

I stopped by around 12pm and the OC mix area was pretty empty with plenty of parking. They converted a part of the parking lot for outdoor seating with AstroTurf and shaded seating. That part is located on Shuck Oyster Bar side where Lazy Boy and Buttercup furniture stores are.

If you come in through that side, there are little arrows pointing toward the direction of various shop if you look up upon entrance. Easy to find and not much of a maze once you know where to go! I was planning to surprise my bf on the way home, so I got him the Sunright Boba Milk Tea with pudding. They offer two types of pudding -- caramel and another version. I can't remember, but I said original, which ended up being caramel. I chose to go with 100% sweetness and regular ice. And then for me, I got the Grapefruit Jasmine tea at 50% sweetness. It was a great balance of sweet, sour, tart and bitter (the jasmine tea is strong!), but enjoyable for me.

The order process was pretty neat. You order through the kiosk and the menu is simple to navigate through the touch screen. Once all was selected, you just proceed to pay and a ticket is printed for the team to assemble/make. Final products were ready within 5 minutes or so. Not long at all! The counter was stocked with napkins and the order came with your straws in bag.

I had originally planned picking up 4 drinks in one trip, but left my sticky note of choices at home and didn't want to get distracted by ALL the choices. Sigh...I'll be back to...

Tried their signature Sunright boba drink with 50% sweetness. I'm not really a tea person but I liked it. The tea flavor wasn't very strong and I didn't mind. I have a sweet tooth but I'm glad I got 50% as that was sweet enough. I can't imagine what 100% would be like. The boba had the right chewiness and the flavor reminded me of Honey Nut Cheerios. Saturday 3pm visit. Customer service 10/10 Quickness 10/10 Oreo brûlée 10/10 I would certainly recommend this sunright tea location. The manager provided such great customer service, patiently and thoroughly explaining questions we had since this was our first visit. The drinks came out quickly, drink presentation and taste was of high quality. I love the texture of their boba, was not soft, had a nice firmness and chewiness.
