It's all fun and games and drinks until the local police decide to cruise the bar. Not in any official capacity, say, pursuing a suspect. Just cruising through like they actually had the authority to do so. Personally when the police department starts adding the inside of bars and nightclubs as an addition to their beat, I go somewhere else. If you're one of those local officers, I'll educate you; Your presence in the bar outside of official capacity and in uniform, is a violation of the Fourth amendment the 8th amendment and the first amendment of the US Constitution. You can't unsee things, so when you see a patron sip his beer, then see him driving within the confines of motor vehicle regulations. If you stop him, on the road after seeing him in the bar and you demand that he undergo roadside sobriety tests it creates entrapment. How do you know the beer you saw him drink at 8:00 was the same one he's been sipping since 4:00? And after the patron prevails in his USC Sec1981 or Sec1983, abusive privilege under color of law lawsuit against your department and yourself, you will have a better understanding of why you shouldn't add the inside of bars to your beat. It's a quaint little bar with a couple pool tables a DJ spinning records and outside a couple very comfortable fire pits and a Old West Town decor. It would be cool to see this place packed with patrons. Get in there and have a beer! And if you're working the door, when the cops come, tell them, "there's no trouble here officer be...
Read moreI’ve lived here for 4 years and never went to Chap up until this year because of all the bad mouthing that I’ve heard around town about it but now that I actually decided to go in I can say that I am more than glad I did. The bartenders that work at the Chap are not just there for the work. They look out for their people. Matt is a great bartender and a awesome person to talk to. I honestly think the bad mouthing is coming from certain individuals who can’t handle their alcohol and get upset when they’re asked to leave. I have seen it firsthand. Definitely check out the Chap if you’re just here visiting , it’s a great place for drinks,...
Read moreIf you've never been, I encourage you to do so. Don't just stop at the bar, dance floor or pool tables where tournaments take place either. Continue on through the bar out back and you will find a very nice covered porch with a variety of seating. Also a few electronic dart boards to test your skill and a punching bag game to test your strength. Also beyond the porch is an artistically displayed "town" surrounding the remaining grounds. You'll feel like you are walking down the courtyard of an old town in the West. Several corn hole boards set up to play on and a horseshoe pit! Worth the stop...
