After living in Council Bluffs for 6 months, I finally was able to find an occasion to stop by Caddy's. I've spent some time down in the 100 Block area and seem numerous posts and pictures of the food and drink at Caddy's, so I was excited to give it a try.
The drink menu was extensive and creative. The beer menu was very decent. We ordered a cocktail and a beer of which the beer was no long available so I made a quick substitution - no big deal. After getting the cocktail, it wasn't nearly that good. Very sugary, not much alcohol, and poorly mixed. If this were a $4-5 drink it wouldn't be a big deal, but it was $8 and we felt like we were paying for the presentation.
For food, we ordered two burgers. One was the Caddy's Ultimate and the other was the Black Bean. The Black Bean burger was dry and flavorless. There was absolutely nothing special or "good" about it. Just edible. The Ultimate Burger was said to come topped with Dr. Pepper BBQ Brisket, cheese, chispy onions, and pickles. I asked the waitress for the burger without the onions and pickles. Upon returning the food I quickly said "Oh, this wasn't supposed to have onions or pickles" to which she responded telling me that she didn't know I meant THOSE onions (which were the only onions listed) and that if I can't take them off or don't like them, she'd come back and then walked off. While I was fine with scraping them off the burger this was NOT the way to handle this situation. Again, the burger was bland and especially the brisket. For a $14 burger and fries, it was worth (maybe barely) half that.
For someplace that I was so excited to try to turn into such an incredible disappointment was sad. I had hoped Caddy's would become my go-to place to take out-of-towners, but after this visit it will not be happening. Overall, the food was bland and overpriced similarly to the drinks. The atmosphere and presentation were fantastic, which is the reason for the two stars. For a simple dinner for 2 to be over $60 and not leave any impression for either person is disappointing. I hope to visit again some day, but it won't likely be until I hear that there are many...
Read moreI was really anticipating the brunch because people were speaking really highly of everything but unfortunately our visit was very subpar…
We were celebrating a big graduation and the food and service was nothing to celebrate.
I got a breakfast sandwich it literally had a little smear of the jam on it my croissant was smooshed and nothing was warm I didn’t eat any of it I intend ate my sons chips that came with his meal. We had a few other plates that were cold as well. I’m pregnant and maybe I’m a little overprotective of my kid but no way should my sons good come out way after everyone else’s and our server neglected to give him his drink forgot to refill it multiple times. My cousin had to go get his drink from the bartender. Then at the end if you find all the letters to Caddy’s on the kids menu you’re supposed to get a free ice cream…again forgot my sons ice cream. Most of us at the table had been in the service industry before and the fact that our kids food was cold and they were constantly overlooked is ridiculous. Im mixed with native but I look white (so is another cousin of mine) and the rest of our table including the kids are black and when we left I asked if we were the only ones with some color in that restaurant and turns out we were. Our server added a 20% gratuity which was weird because there was no mention of an added gratuity and as I mentioned we’ve been in the service industry so we know how to tip especially based on performance and our server didn’t deserve 20%
All I know is I won’t ever be returning to this establishment based solely upon the principle of how they treat their guests. The bartender did a great job making drinks and getting our kiddos drinks but the food and the service SUCK. I felt very out of place like other patrons were staring and the staff had to be racist to ASSUME and add a tip to our check WORST EXPERIENCE EVER I had better luck at Joes Cafe on Maple in Benson FIRE AND EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE

Read moreAs much as I had hoped to give a fair and thorough review of Caddy's, I must unfortunately say that my experience at this restaurant was nothing short of abysmal. My party and I had called to secure and confirm our reservation, only to be met with extreme disorganization and blatant prejudice upon arriving.
Despite speaking with Amanda twice on the phone and providing our contact information, she still claimed to not know about our reservation. It was clear that she had not taken us seriously or made any effort to accommodate our party size. The fact that there were numerous empty tables available, yet we were unable to be seated only added insult to injury.
To make matters worse, one member of our party spotted our reservation written down at the hostess/bar stand area. This blatant disregard for our request further solidified the fact that we were being discriminated against solely based on the color of our skin.
Despite our peaceful demeanor and willingness to give this restaurant a chance to make things right, it was evident that Amanda was not interested in serving us. We were met with apathy and excuses instead of genuine concern or an apology. It is truly disappointing that a supposedly reputable establishment like Caddy's would have such biased individuals in positions of power. Although I cannot comment on the taste of the food, as we did not get the chance to try it, my overall experience can only be rated negatively due to Amanda's unprofessional and prejudiced actions towards us.
I hope that this review serves as a warning for other potential customers who may face similar treatment at Caddy's. Discrimination has no place in any establishment, especially one supposedly dedicated to serving all...
