Muggswigz Coffee & Tea co. — Restaurant in Coventry Township

I'm so glad I found this coffee shop chain. I tried this chain for the first time yesterday at a different Akron location and was shockingly surprised. Today I'm trying a different location over by portage Lakes. The presentation of the espresso macchiato was not as good at this location, but the flavor was spot on. My espresso macchiato was smooth and delicious. They make 95% of their simple syrups In House. The staff here was equally as friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. A lovely place to visit and get a cup of coffee or espresso. They use a medium Italian roast. I thought I always loved French roast was my favorite but this Italian roast is amazing. They carry fresh baked goods, including bread loaves that they make from scratch here. Everything in the store is made from scratch. I love that. They have a few gluten-free items too. Parking is easy they have a private parking lot and they have one space right in front of their store for to go Guests. The only thing I didn't like about this coffee shop is that they serve there to go coffee and Styrofoam yuck. I feel like that just ruins my coffee totally. I prefer to drink out of paper cups. Love this place so much but this employee ruined it for me. I have no idea how she still has her job. I ordered my coffee per usual and I forgot to ask for it iced. When I felt it was hot I apologized profusely. I felt so bad I forgot to ask for it iced and the barista with dark curly hair working at the Manchester location at 10am Sunday morning said “You wanted it iced didn’t you?” I said “Yeah I’m so so sorry I really don’t mean to be a pain”, she responds “Well can I just put ice in it cause remaking would be like, a lot”, I said “I’m really sorry I’ve had ice just thrown in before and it just gets watered down, do you mind remaking it for me? I’m sorry.” She then gets upset and doesn’t remake it, and just says “Here you go.” I’ve never made a complaint before to anyone but I felt that I had to this time because of how mean she was. Keep in mind we gave her a tip of course as well because we know how being a barista can be. My boyfriend has also had unpleasant experiences with her. It makes me not want to go to Muggswigz anymore and I love going for the atmosphere but she completely ruined it and went on talking badly about me to...

Coffee is ok... seems to be “hit or miss” based on the barista. But I still go for their breakfast sandwich and Morsi’s!

I do wish they were open later though.

Probably won’t go back.

Placed an order on the app and it wasn’t ready (it even started).

There are options for “add-ons” when you order, which you pay for extra for… they don’t have any of these. Or at least the avocado I requested. And it feels silly to ask for
