The Woman who took my order today was coarse and racist. She had poor energy when taking my order. She was very passive-aggressive, but when taking a homeless couple's order, she was very energetic and pleased to assist. There was a bit of a language barrier, so I asked for her answer once more to confirm that we were on the same page with adding vegan cheese to my vegan burger. She went and reported to the Cook; however, I was very uneasy about eating the burger just because I didn’t trust her after the transaction. I didn’t ask for a refund because I didn’t want the hassle of giving her my card again. The behavior displayed today is not acceptable. There should consequence for people like the young girl who makes minorities feel uncomfortable when purchasing from the establishment. The description was a little deceiving, "old school walk up joint serving vegetarian versions of fast food Staples and vegan ice cream" to me that ment that all the ice cream was vegan not just a few. I drove all the way from Riverside just to be disappointed that it was a few options and only the scoop kind in a cup. On top of that I ordered the vegan chili fries, well first there was no option for shredded cheese like in some of the pictures I saw people posted he had to cut up a slice and charged me an extra dollar I'm used to paying extra but a dollar? And as for the chili Umm well it was just a bunch of chopped up veggies sauteed on top nothing again that resembled past photos. I also ordered the nuggets and almost $5 for 6 mini pieces that's crazy. Decent food. Could be better. New owners. Good time for a cosmetic upgrade to this cool, old building. Seems they are still using the ancient menu board from old owner as you can still see the old (cheaper) prices. I want them to succeed, however, I’m concerned that the dilapidated state of the place will turn off customers. It’s obvious that plant-based food is hot at the moment and that a mainstream market exist so why not spend some money and do a decent cosmetic and menu upgrade? I know when you start a new business funds are tight, however, the alternative (closing down) has got to be worse.
