Five O'clock Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Covington

First and last time there. I mistakenly missed the small sign on the door that said no cigars. You walk in the over half the place folks are smoking or vaping (again my bad for missing it, I own my mistake). I go to the bar to place my order and an order waitress tells me I can’t smoke a cigar in because folks complained of the smoke (I literally thought she was joking. The way she said was everyone around me was smoking). I think nothing more of it and order my drinks. About an hour into being there and 75.00 later. The same waitress comes over to me and starts speaking to me in a very aggressive tone saying I told you you can’t smoke cigars in there and says go outside and I already told you. I look at her and said I honestly thought you were joking. She continues to be very rude to me in front of my friends. I put my cigar out as I now know she wasn’t joking and is not. Just being completely rude. I asked her to not speak to me so rudely as I seriously thought she was joking with all the folks smoking. She continued being rude and aggressive, so zero reason and zero customer service to do. This. It was simply uncalled for. I finished up my drinks and left.

I own that I missed the sign coming in and taking her original conversation as a a joke as everyone was Smoking.

Learn some customer service, as you were out of line and plain rude. I know my little money doesn’t hurt you business by not coming back. Just felt everyone should know. Learn some customer service as well. It will take you further...

My wife and I have been in the area for 18 months and we we’re still looking for that great local sports bar to go to once or twice a week. This place had a great feel to the layout of what a sports bar should be. TV’s, pool tables, darts, trivia and good music. The staff was friendly and the food was very good. All this initially made for a potential winner in our search. Now the negative that will keep us from going back, my wife has asthma and we weren’t in there 5 minutes and she started feeling the effect of the people smoking inside. There were about 20 people in the place on this Tuesday night and it looked like a third of them were smoking. I guess in Georgia if you exclude people under 18 you can allow smoking inside. That’s a business right but unfortunately for us it made this place a no return ☹️ Again the only negative we saw but I can’t subject my wife to the smoke and I don’t like having to wash everything I wore including my jacket...

I'm a VERY finicky eater who rarely tries new restaurants. I'm even less inclined to try a new restaurant through a delivery service. I looked at Five O'clock Sports Bar & Grill's menu and was intrigued. They are now my favorite restaurant (despite not yet going into the restaurant). Their food taste and quality is excellent. Their customer service is fantastic. I recently placed an order via Grubhub and it had to be cancelled. The next day when I placed another order they sent a note with an apology and a free dessert (which was amazing). It totally made my day! All they need to do is add their desserts to the delivery menu and I would be in heaven! I highly recommend Five O'clock Sports Bar & Grill.
