Waffle House — Restaurant in Covington

On March 9th around 7pm I decided to take my daughter out to eat after a day in the park. On my way in a woman strikes up a conversation. We talked briefly outside the store before walking in. The woman outside turns out to be an employee's girlfriend. This is where it gets interesting. A cook inside the store who is, from what I've seen a red head maybe 5 foot 10 weighing about 150lbs and overly sensitive and insecure considering his girlfriend was not attractive in any way possible, and what was said was harmless conversation. He starts to become aggressive, raising his voice talking about he doesn't like other guys talking to "his woman" I just want to put this on the record in Hope's of him or a coworker seeing this to tell him that hes a pathetic excuse of a man who obviously has major insecurities and needs to reevaluate himself. If my daughter wasn't with me I would have put him in check. I ended up having to walk out before getting our meals to avoid a situation. But just so its said, if you go around acting like that you will get yourself hurt. You're very lucky that you acted like a 12 year old by screaming and shouting from behind the counter and not confronting me. Because if your unaware most people have their concealed weapons carry permit and you more than likely would have been looking down the barrel of a 45. Not saying that I couldn't have handled it without that. Because I could. But I had my little girl with me. And a threat to me is a threat to her. And I will kill for her. Any other time. I would have mopped you around the entire restaurant with my bare hands. So if anyone plans on getting into a fight with a jealous cook. I reccomend this location. I'm usually not the one to let someone run me out of somewhere. Just note to count your blessings since I decided to avoid the situation because my daughter would have to witness that event. We all know what waffle house is. We all know what we are getting when we go there. But this has to be the worst waffle house in Newton county. Even though there were two empty tables, one clean and one dirty, we were told we had to wait on the dirty table to be cleaned. Despite several waitresses standing around talking, after 10 minutes of us standing there, the manager had to come over and clean the table off for us. Then, a couple who arrived right after we were seated, was seated in the other table we were told we couldn't sit at. After several more minutes, the manager had to come back came over to take our order. Halfway through, one of the waitresses who had apparently been in a deep conversation with another waitress finally came over to take over. And then... Nothing. After 20 minutes, we had to flag the manager down to get our drinks. A few minutes later, our waitress showed up with them, and one of them was wrong. Then a cook came off the line to bring us our food, after we inquired about it, not our waitress, who was standing on the other side of the counter staring out the window. And we didn't get all of our food, but by then, there was no way we were going to try and flag someone down, and wait on it. And after waiting another 20 minutes of trying to find our waitress to get our check, we finally walked to the register, where they had to ask her for our ticket. I'm not one to complain, And I'm not one to not tip. But there was no way I was leaving anything on the table for that poor excuse for service we had today. I've never left without paying before, but I was real close to doing it today. There are 4 or 5 other waffle houses in Covington, choose any of the other one's, and...

At the Waffle House on Hwy 278, Brenda truly stood out as a beacon of outstanding customer service during our visit a few weeks ago. Her warmth and kindness were as comforting as a slice of homemade apple pie. Despite this particular Waffle House not being our absolute favorite, Brenda's dedication and attentiveness made it a close second in our book. From the moment we walked in, she went above and beyond to ensure our experience was enjoyable.

Brenda's genuine care for her customers was evident throughout our meal. She took the time to engage with us, making us feel not just like patrons, but valued guests. Her recommendations were spot-on, and she anticipated our needs before we even had to ask. It's rare to encounter such exceptional service, and Brenda's efforts truly made a lasting impression.

While the ambiance and menu at this Waffle House might not have initially made it our top choice, Brenda's exceptional service elevated the overall experience. It goes to show that sometimes, it's the people who make a place special. We left with smiles on our faces, grateful for Brenda's hospitality. If she continues to provide such outstanding service, there's no doubt that this Waffle House could become our new go-to spot.
