Had time to kill before meeting up with friends, decided to try their coffee. Ordered Cafe Mocha and walnut brownie.
The coffee tasted great, but it was luke warm. The brownie was tasty, if a little dry. Both were served without a napkin.
The gentleman behind the register was nice. His co-worker, clearly taking lead on the coffee, but seemed disengaged from people, but courteous. There was one table with 5 family members... two individual folks at different tables working on computers and a couple of teenagers, huddled around a phone - fully immersed in the drama of their lives. That left me alobr at a long communal table.
The entire shop was eerily quiet. 9 people people would normally generate a natural buzz - but it was more like the lounge at the funeral home shared by friends of the deceased unknown to each other.
I might go back with a friend or two to give them a chance to heat up the coffee and hope for a small stereo set up. I want them to be better at their job because I welcome a coffee spot that isn't a chain....
Read moreWent in to get a bubble tea drink. Asked for the drink with both Tapioca pearls and Mango Jelly. I asked them to CHARGE me for the Mango Jelly. The staff tells me there is a “bubble shortage” and are ONLY limiting ONE topping and I can pick only 1.
Okay I get it if I am asking for extra tapioca (and there is the shortage) or extra mango jelly ( or this has the shortage), But what does these two completely different products have to do with each other that your employees said I can ONLY get one topping due to the shortage.
Granted bubble tea is a great drink, this is NOT a life saving product that is going to stop the plague and needs to be limited. If a person is willing to pay extra for a product that you clearly have, you should sell them the product.
Very disappointed with this place.
I will not be coming back...
Read moreI’ve been coming to Cafeteasia for a few years now, and I’ve got to say that it’s truly one of my favorite places in downtown Cranford. Lots of flavors and combinations, and I love their waffles too! But what has really made the place exceptional has been their barista Elizabeth who really knows what she’s doing. I swear my piña coladas taste the best when she makes them, and she always gets the bubble to drink ratios just right. Not only that, but she always has great recommendations when I don’t know what I want, and if it’s not busy she spends a little more time telling me all about the different ways the flavors blend with each other and what combinations she’s tried recently. I’ve even let her surprise me once or twice because I trust her judgement this much by now. Decent place with a...
