For over a decade and a half, Bamboo has been my sushi bar of choice. I remember when they first opened their doors in that cozy corner of the plaza. It’s become a cherished tradition for my family and me, a place where we have created so many memories.
Danny and his team are culinary heroes. Their service is more than superb; it’s art. They mix flavors, create memories, and ensure every visit feels like coming home. The chefs, the staff- from Javi, to Derrick to Mario and everyone in between - they’re not just professionals; they’re family. They are part of how my children know great food.
And it’s not just about the food; it’s about the moments shared. Bamboo's Yakisoba—have been a constant companion throughout my children’s growth. From their earliest bites to today as a 9 and 11 year old with big appetites, Bamboo has nourished them. These noodles have been eaten in a part of birthdays, championship basketball dinners, and in the pain of loss, and just because. My son's first sushi roll was made by an amazing chef and former classmate, Javier. Our first date, my wife and I, was right here, laughing and joking with Mike and Danny’s hospitality.
I have grown to love sushi from this restaurant. I did not know what I was missing until I asked for a custom roll. This is become tradition with my wife. We always share a Mr. Muscles Roll and at least one Chefs Choice made by your great team.
Bamboo isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience. The menu offers delights for every palate. They have an extensive list of options that I feel confident will please even the pickiest person. Pair that with an impressive selection of drinks, and you have a recipe for great meal. But it’s the genuine care they bring into each meal that sets them apart. Whether it’s a daily special roll or a local favorite, Bamboo crafts culinary magic.
To the team at Bamboo: You’ve been part of my family’s journey. You’ve nourished us, celebrated with us, and watched us grow. Thank you for being more than a restaurant; you’re a permanent part of some of my favorite memories. Here’s to many more years of good food, great service, and heartfelt...
Read moreFood was as salty as my attitude by the time we left. 3 stars because they comped our meal. Would’ve been 4 if the servers were attentive.
I ordered the katsudon and it was WAY too salty - like unbearably salty. I had my husband taste it and he made (as my 2-year-old would put it) a yucky face.
I stand back in line with my food in my hand so I could re-order something else. Someone passing by eventually helps me out and takes my new order. I order the yakisoba because I figured they use the packaged seasoning soba noodles usually come with - and hey you can’t go wrong with packaged seasoning.
I was then approached and was told that the katsudon is SUPPOSED to taste that salty because of the broth. LOL no. That’s when I got upset. That so-called broth needed to be watered down with a fire hose. This donburi is supposed to be made with dashi broth. The ratio for dashi stock and water is literally on the box.
Sat back down, got my noodles, tasted like packaged seasoning soba noodles - I’m not complaining. Time goes by, servers pass over and over again, 50 minutes later a server finally asks if we were waiting on more food. My husband is sitting there with no food and an empty beer glass.
You have at least two servers running food and we’re literally sitting in direct view of where the servers exit the kitchen. It took 50 minutes for someone to realize there was only one dish served to a table for 2.
Do servers not check on tables after ordering? Is that not in their job description at this restaurant?
ANYWAY since I was already done eating, I stand up near the register - again - to tell someone to pack my husband’s food to-go. Gentleman at the sushi bar was quick to help - hope y’all split tips with the sushi chefs.
We get home, open his hibachi, and my mother-in-law asks to take a bite of the veggies and rice. Her first words were “wow really salty” and I thought yes, our experience was -...
Read moreThe restaurant was filthy with dust and dirt everywhere on the floors to above your food on the wallls and tops of booths. The woman with glasses that took our orders was rude and defensive when I asked how they cooked there rice several times a day and is not made to order( Panda Express strategy) The meats was super low quality and chicken was overcooked to boot. This is not NOT a real Hinachi even though the place claims it. They can’t even fry proper rice here as fried rice is always made with day old rice is Japanese culture. Because they make it with fresh rice it’s has les flavor and they rice matches that of cheap uncle Ben’s ready rice with swollen mushy rice. The springs rolls were frozen. It fresh that taste was very apparent to the taste and they were soggy muddy inside them definitely processed not made fresh. This looks like it should be a pizza place the overall vibe. We definitely won’t be going back there I’m I’m sorry for those who think this is Hibachi but if you want the best friend rice in the area hits Palmas up the road it’s made properly and the Lumpia also made from scratch. Bamboo was a MASSIVE disappointment given wat I see in the Google rating and trip advisor and local friends. Look the food was edible YES but did we finish and take togos noooooooooo if ur looking for real hibachi don’t do it. Even the sushi was sloppy and loosely rolled and disintegrated with the slightest dip of soy sauce…::::: how this place has made it 18 year in business they must have cheapened there selves at some point is all I can come to on that. HIBACHI FOODIES STAY AWAY U...
