I had a taste for fish ''n chips for my birthday and my wife found this place. We went with my sister and brother-in-law to try them out. First impression...smallish venue; long wait; expansive menu. But, it was worth the wait for seating. My bro-in-law and I split some oysters for starters. What a surprise...these were the best oysters I've had since Seattle. Plus, they were good-sized...some were more than two slurps! The house SLAP YA MAMA SPICE HOT SAUCE was a good addition, as was the prepared horseradish. Instead of going for the fish 'n chips, I got the combo of fish and shrimp. So happy I did that...they were the best shrimp that I've had in a long time. Jumbo sized, fried perfectly so the skin had just the right amount of 'snap' when taking a bite. One of the reasons that I went with the combo was that it came with two sides. And the sides were an attraction on their own. I got 4 sides in total: red beans and rice (especially good); hush puppies (good crunch, not greasy); Cajun okra ( battered, but not too thick); and coleslaw. We will be returning, for sure. Update - June 2024: We had not been back for a while. The location is outside our normal stomping grounds, but we had another good meal. The fish and shrimp were excellent, again. The beans and rice, along with the hush puppies, were as good as before. The service was relaxed and personal. In short...they are still doing it right. Consistency is a good selling point, especially if it's consistently good.

I have actually visited this place a couple of times. We decided to go there for lunch & were pleasantly greeted by the Mgr. who sat us, we were then waited on by a gentleman named Ross who was very pleasant, friendly & alert with a excellent attitude👍. The interior seemed a lil' cramped as it was lunchtime & the restaurant was about 3/4 full & the Mgr. was setting up the tables outside on the patio.. I was going to order the Lobster & Seafood Salad, but it did not come in a lunch size portion like their Lunch Menu Salads according to our waiter Ross, so I decided to order a bowl of Clam Chowder Soup which was basically average, very thick, & it was served warm & not hot. It was basically like eating Potato Soup with a few clams in it, it did not have a clam or seafood flavor to it at all??( maybe more Seafood Base??). I then decided to try the Shrimp & Grits which surprisingly were very flavorful👍. The combination of the seafood, sausage, bacon, & tomatoes really gave it a verygood flavor. The Andouile Sausage had a verygood bite to it. I only had 3 Shrimp in my bowl, but overall I would order it again. If there was 1 thing that I was missing in it, it would be a lil' cheese. The Shrimp & Grits came with a Sweet Cornbread Muffin which I tasted & didn't really care for, but it was not because it was not good, because it was very flavorful & had just the right amount of sweetness to it, but I am not a fan of corn & this had nuggets of corn in it, it also was on the doughy side. My mother ordered a bowl of Clam Chowder Soup & the Battered Fried Cod(which she loved👍🤤) with Fries & her friend ordered Battered Fried Onion Rings which I tried & they were very tasty & for thick cut onion rings had a very light & flavorful batter, not heavy like most thick cut Onion Rings, she also ordered Fried Okra. Overall our service from Ross was great, the atmosphere was nice although a lil' noisy(U couldn't here the live entertainment good, because of the customers talking in a small area). GulfShores has that Nawlins' feel & flavor of food. I plan to visit on a Sun. & try the Sunday Brunch👍🙂. I would like to see them either branch out as a chain or enlarge or move to a bigger location, the business & $$$ are there for them to make!!

Visited this location on 8/31/24 for my birthday. I used to be excited to come here but the last 2 visits were not great so I chalked it up to them having a bad night. This time was no different. My wife’s steak looked more like a pork chop than an actual steak. My son’s steak was red and had no taste whatsoever even though he requested well done and the fish we ordered was so deep fried it was almost not edible. The worst part was the “Jumbo Scallop” plate I ordered for $38.99 because the size of the scallops were definitely not jumbo as advertised. For $40 a plate you’d think you’d get well sized portions. Well I didn’t and honestly I was so disappointed with my “Jumbo Scallop” plate that I almost sent it back but I didn’t want to make a fuss. I will however tell you if you visit Gulf shores creve coeur location, expect to pay $25 or more per plate and get subpar food. A shame because their food used to be great and affordable. This visit along with our last 2 visits disappointing so we will no longer patronize this establishment. Visit at your own risk and if you visit during dinner time on a weekend, expect to pay top dollar for the food that isn’t worth it.

Fantastic experience! We were visiting St. Louis for a quick weekend trip and looking for a nice dinner that would be great for our kids too. We read the reviews and decided to give it a try. So many people talked about how great it is here and they were not lying! The food was fantastic. Our kids tried and loved everything we ordered. Our server's name was Jacob and that has to be some of the best service I've had in a long time. Also I have to say he was not alone in fantastic service. The employees were helping each other out left and right. Clearing tables for each other, running food, etc. And I am not kidding when I say that kitchen delivers! The food just melted in your mouth. Totally worth every penny. You can really tell the owner cares about his quality and takes pride in what he plates. Great service, amazing food, and overall wonderful vibe. This will be one of our go to spots when we visit St Louis from now on! Great job to you and your team. You are really doing it right!

Great Ambiance.... but I arrived at the restaurant late evening and it instantly felt warm.. I loved the scenery, live music and the ambiance. My joy was short lived as I waited to be acknowledged by staff and it took a few minutes to get someone’s attention. I was finally greeted by the bartender who turned out to also be our server. She was very friendly and gave good recommendations on food & drink. We ordered a hot crab dip that was way too cheesy.. never tasted any crab and the chips would break before you could dip... not the best. My entree was the cornmeal catfish & sweet corn. The cook made read beans & rice, battered fish.. the server was apologetic and offered a substitution. I finally did get the right order but it was a little on the bland side. My companion orders the jumbo shrimp sampler and the shrimp were really tiny... In all the food wasn’t superb but it was a good experience.

Thursday night dinner, we found seats waiting for us at the bar. Didn't take long and we had our drinks, ordered the crawfish appetizer. It was delicious! For dinner, I ordered the Louisian' Grouper and Crawfish. I asked for the grouper to be "extra blackened". It was so good! I would highly recommend this dish. I have ordered the similar Louisian' grouper with Shrimp before, but I have to say the crawfish is better. If you haven't been to Gulf Shores yet, give them a visit. We'll definitely be back! Update: We made it back on another Thursday night dinner. I had the Louisian' Grouper and Crawfish again, but tried the cajun okra this time. Again, it was so good! If you enjoy fish, this blackened grouper is definitely one that I can recommend.
