The cashier Olo is rude, condescending and apparently racist. Never returning to or recommending this establishment. The food is just ok. The regular cheesesteak is full of gristle, which makes for a difficult chew. The chicken cheesesteak is too tough, which also makes for a difficult chew. The wagyu cheesesteak had a funny flavor, almost as if it wasn’t fully cooked or old. It did not have the rich buttery flavor of real wagyu. The fries were good, but not good enough to deal with Olo’s attitude, bad service and old tasting steak.
When I entered this establishment, there was an older black woman ordering at the register and a bag waiting at the pickup counter. The cashier was being impatient and condescending to this older woman. I was not greeted or asked any questions at this time, which I understood because she was currently ringing up another customer. Instead of checking the bag and taking it, I waited at the pickup counter for the cashier to finish with her current customer. A white gentleman walked in after me and stood behind me, I guess he was picking up too. In the middle of taking the woman’s order, she immediately greeted him and asked if he was there for a pickup. He said yes. She asked his name, he told her and she told him that they were still working on his order. Once she was done ringing up the woman, she walked to the back of the store. After patiently waiting and observing the experience, I then checked the name on the bag sitting at the pickup counter, saw my name, grabbed it and started walking to the door. This was an online order that was already paid for. The cashier then runs to the front yelling “Sir sir, Is that your order? Are you DoorDash or something?” I said no, but this is my pickup order. Not only did she pick and choose who to greet and assist, she also assumes who’s there to pick up a personal order and who’s there to deliver...
Read moreI went last night and still thinking about it this morning!!! First off, the service. The team at this location greeted me with genuine warmth, not just behind the counter, but in how they answered questions, offered suggestions, made the whole experience feel easy. In the “you might just go back for the people” category. LOL!!@ The spirit of this you can tell, starts at the top with general manager, who was extremely helpful. • The ambience eas clean, bright, well-kept. Easy parking. Not just “fast-food and forget” but “comfortable enough to enjoy.” • And then: THE MAIN EVENT: THE sandwich. I went for the Wagyu Cheesesteak Sandwich, yes, Wagyu. It was as advertised. The beef was rich, tender, nicely seared; the bread held up (no soggy collapse); the cheese and extras were generous and well-balanced. This wasn’t “just ok” it was top tier for a sandwich shop. • Portion size: satisfying. Enough that I didn’t feel like I’d under-ordered or settle. • Value: Considering the quality (Wagyu beef, solid bread, quality condiments), it felt justified. • The wait time: minimal. I had my order placed and out fairly quickly. • The menu is broad, plenty of options, so if you’re with someone who wants something lighter, there’s wiggle room. ALSO, THEY HAVE A WAYGU FRENCH DIP sandwich too....GEEZ!!! • The team made a point of checking “did everything come out right?” small detail, big difference. • One tip: go when you’re hungry. The sandwich stands up to that expectation.
So, If you’re in Crofton/Gambrills or even if you're NOT, but in the mood for a sandwich that means business, I’d strongly and highly recommend Capriotti’s on RTE 3. Especially if you go for the Wagyu cheesesteak, it deserves the spotlight. The service makes it more than just a visit but an...
Read moreHorrible!! Worst sandwich shop in the area. We Ordered a large steak and cheese to split for dinner because they are so long we thought It would be more than enough, but it was practically empty! It was a long roll with sprinkle of steak inside. When we took a bite we immediately needed a drink because we had a mouthful of bread. And it was cold, wrapped in paper with no tinfoil the sandwich was cold in minutes. There was hardly any steak at all in the sandwich. A Huge disappointment because the sandwich cost $25 before taxes and fees! I called to politely explain we were just ripped off and whoever answered the phone did not care at all and said there was nothing she could do about it. - they weigh their meat and because we didn't get peppers and onions there was nothing in the sandwich. If we wanted a pepper onion sandwich I would have ordered one. If their game is to load the sandwich with filler then they should lower the price when you leave those things off?! Fries were terrible too, tasted like they were made in the morning and left on the counter in the cup all day. Rubbery and cold. Employee had Absolutely no interest in remediating the matter- no offer to remake, no refund, no coupon, no apology. Terrible service. This place will be out of business in no time. Hoping this review will help someone from wasting their money like we did!...
