Castillo's Restaurant Inc — Restaurant in Cudahy

Located in the far south east corner of the Packard Plaza shopping center , this is a fairly long established family style restaurant with daily specials and also a great menu with plenty of your favorite selection's . There's lots of parking available at all times and plenty of seating with some larger tables to accommodate groups , service has always been friendly and attentive . The food is good as are their soups and the portions are usually generous . It's a favorite spot for the seniors and the prices are very reasonable .Only deducted one star because they are closed on Monday and close at two on Saturday and Sunday . Really wanted the experience to be good. We arrived at 12:40p. Promptly seated and drinks brought. Order taken with in a reasonable time. Mother in laws soup and bread brought right a way. Then we wait. It is currently 1:24p. No sign of food. No one checking in. No eye contact being made. Avoiding us at all costs. At 1:26 the food arrives. A quick apology that the gyro meat took a little longer. Horrible environment. Not clean. Not friendly. Locally owned and I so want them to be successful. But unless they get their act together. When I first walked in I wondered what I was getting myself into but ended up a good experience. Prices and service are good. Tons of space with a dedicated reading area complete with a sofa. Judge Judy was playing on an old school tv in another dedicated area and some older ladies were all about that. A quick Google search will say it's vegetarian friendly but I wouldn't recommend if looking for a wide arrortment of veg options.
