Puntip cuisine Thaifood — Restaurant in Cudahy

I’ve been coming here for lunch for many years. The food and service has always been great. Recently my co workers and I had been craving their food so we stopped by to have lunch. When our bill came we noticed the prices were slightly higher than usual an added service charge. We asked waitress about the service charge.(I believe her name was Pam) Her response was “You don’t leave tips”. Honestly, this was an extremely offensive comment to say to someone who has continuously brought them business throughout the years. In our defense WE DO LEAVE TIPS!! I asked her if she was doing the same for the other customers dinning in and she said “ No only you! Because the last time you came you didn’t leave a tip”. Mind you my last order was to go. All of us felt offended and embarrassed as if we need to show her proof that we do leave tips. Sad to say we won’t be coming back to this...

We stumbled into this hidden Thai jewel of a restaurant. To start off the wait staff is attentive and friendly. We ordered what is on the cover of the menu - Appetizer Plater, Tom Yum Soup, Shrimp Fried Rice, and Chicken and Tofu Chow Mein. The appetizer plater is pure heaven, the assortment of appetizers is delicious. The Tom Yum Soup is light, fragrant with an assortment of seafood. YUMMY!!! The Shrimp Fried Rice is perfectly cooked with a slight bite and full of large shrimps. In contrast the Chicken and Tofu Chow Mein is full of flavor and a party in your mouth. And, last but not least... The Thai Tea is perfectly sweetened and completes the meal. If you're in the mood for an over the top meal...stop by and try Putnip...

I'm sorry, but the taste of the food is no longer the same. Previous owners and cooks were beyond EXCELLENT! I've been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years. After change of ownership I was told the previous cooks stayed and so I decided to give it a shot. I was very disappointed, the taste of food had changed drastically (No! I'm not exaggerating!) the portions decreased and of course the prices went up. Even though money is not the issue here, the good quality and taste of food is. Sadly I've been looking for another restaurant as good as the old "Pantip Thai Restaurant" used to be. I wish good luck to...
