Rumors Deli is by far one of my favorite places in Cullman to eat. When I first moved to Cullman in 2021, my wife who's lived here all her life said it was one of the places I needed to try. I was hooked ever since. I've never tried something I didn't like. It's in a very unique old building with a TON of history. The food is excellent. Two of my favorites are "The Snitch" (meatball sub) and the "Talk of the Town" (reuben). Whatever your preference is, I'm sure you'll love it is obvious they use high quality ingredients. I gave the service 3 stars only because you don't interact with the staff very much and whoever is working the register usually just stands there waiting for you to order. They don't make a ton of effort to be overly friendly or anything. It's just kind of blah. Then they bring the food to your table and don't really say anything. They just drop it and leave. I've never encountered rudeness, more just kind of a "Blah" vibe. I do highly recommend this place though if you're new to Cullman, just passing through, or just looking for something different to try. I may just go there for...
Read moreThe quality was kinda good, but the quantity was just not great. Obviously trying to cut costs by giving you less. The "pepper salad" was actually just a dipping sauce cup with some slaw in it ...how you could call this a salad is absurd. You pay upfront when you order, standing in line like a cafeteria, and on the receipt it asks for a tip - before you've even received any service. Only to find out that there is no service. They drop the food off, but you have to fill your own drinks at the drink machine, you get up and get anything you need ...so what service did I tip for??? Did the servers get the tip, or does the owner put it in his pocket? But the kicker is that an hour after we ate there, my wife began vomiting - violently and repeatedly. And the next day I had terrible gut pain and had to run to the toilet 2 times. I keeled over in absolute pain while at work. Maybe this was just a one time fluke, but it's important not to make people sick, ever. It seems like a nice place, but they need to serve people if they want a tip, charge you AFTER you eat, and most of all don't make...
Read moreThey relocated to a newly renovated location. The attitude of the owner changed dramatically. The food quality has faltered. Annette actually raised their prices on their combos and removed the beverage as part of the combo. A 12 oz. beverage is 2.39. Non insulated cup. The ice melts before you get out of the parking lot. The sandwiches have not been the same since the move. I've had mine look like it was soaked in water when I unwrap it. I have shown this twice to them. They replaced it the first time. The second time I was told it was because of the ingredients. Well, if you know it's an issue, adjust your quantities. Firehouse Subs selection is quite large and much better quality. Plus, a portion of every sale goes to funding local fire departments. Their prices are much more in line for what you get. It's a shame that when a business moves to a larger place that they must pass their overhead costs onto the customer. Less food, lower quality food and no beverage, but yet the price goes up almost a $1. ...
