Big EU'es BBQ is hands-down, my favorite barbecue place I have ever eaten... And that really says a lot!
My husband picked it up for us one evening, on a whim; it had been recommended to him by a friend at work.
City barbecue was our normal barbecue takeout preference, (nothing against city barbecue!) but we will probably never return.
Big EU'es barbecue is superior in every way.
We have tried: Pulled pork: It was excellent, perfectly cooked and seasoned, very little fat. Ribs (my Favorite!) they are so juicy and Perfectly Smoked! The flavor is truly delicious and putting any sauce on them seems a disgrace! Brisket (very close second favorite!) I have never had smoked brisket taste so good! It is normally well cooked (last time it was just a bit overcooked) but generally is it well prepared and absolutely delicious.
We have also tried the following sides (that are Great portion sizes btw!):
Green beans: cooked but still have a crunch, prepared with onions and a little pork. Good flavor.
Potato Salad: 2 of my daughters' favorite. They are very flavorful and not overly creamy.
Mac & cheese: definitely a homemade recipe, my daughters loved it (I am not a mac & cheese fan in general).
Candied carrots: these were my favorite! They are definitely sweet, syrupy and the texture was more firm, not mushy. They were delicious!
Collard greens: absolutely delicious! They taste like southern, flavorful collard greens. I would definitely recommend trying them.
Coleslaw: delicious, creamy (not overly). Perfect paired with the pulled pork or absolutely delicious on its own!
Each meal also comes with either cornbread or rolls, one daughter loves the rolls the other loves the cornbread! And a drink.
There are many different barbecue sauce options, my husband loves the hot bbq- tastes like barbecue sauce with some Frank's red hot.; I've never had this combination, but it is intriguing and good. There is an Asian barbecue sauce that is delicious! Very unique. The house barbecue sauce is also delicious!
On top of all of this, the prices and portions are great!!
We are obviously big fans and would...
Read moreWe were visiting Cuyahoga Falls on Saturday and wanted real BBQ. After looking at Google Maps, this place looked promising.
We called ahead ro ask if they can provide the meats without sauce as a member in the family cannot have gluten or sugar. The person on the phone was patient and explained it can be done.
We arrived at the location and the place was already busy with many people waiting for to go orders, this was a good sign. There is a wood fired smoker out front, so that you know it is authentic. They also have 2 grills in the back fired by wood and charcoal.
The menu is simple, the person taking our orders was friendly and patient. We went with the 3 meats dinner (turkey, pork, ribs, hand cut fries and homemade coleslaw).
Lucky we ordered one meal only for 2 people. the food came to the table and for the reasonable price the meal fed two of us plus we still had more to take home.
The folks here are passionate about BBQ and they make great food. The smoke and tender meat was on point. The wife is a BBQ connoisseur and stated this was one of the top places she has been ro for great ribs and pork.
If you are in the area and want great BBQ, friendly service, food made by passionate cooks and something that will not break your wallet, this is the place to go. Do not let the interior fool you, the cooks serve ip a really good BBQ experience. The locals know about this already, as a tourist, I am flad we...
Read moreLet me preface this by saying that I love the food here and like to choose this place because of the quality of the food whenever I get BBQ. On dec 26th I placed an online order not knowing they we’re closed. The payment processed, and I realized my error. I called and left a message explaining the error and that I was in town visiting. The next day I called when the store opened and I requested either a refund or for my food to be ready for lunch. The woman I spoke to and I settled on noon. However when I arrived, I was told they didn’t have the chocolate cake. I went out to my car to see what my gf wanted as a replacement, and when I came back in they told me none of my food was prepared. They offered to make it quickly, but we were on a tight schedule and requested a refund. They told us they had “no cash” in the building (weird for a restaurant) and offered me a gift card. We eventually settled on them making the food and comping the meal with a gift card (that’s how I understood it). When we returned however, they seemed confused about why I was waiting after checking for each item in my order. They seemed annoyed when I said I was told I was receiving a gift card as a refund. (As I’m doing this, the cashier is counting out cash to give to someone in change). I got mad at their treatment of me. Literally the bare minimum of human decency is simply accounting for your mistakes, not doubling down on your...
