The rating, in my opinion, is a bit high. The service was pleasant but a bit lacking in attentiveness. I had to ask for coffee and water she did bring out our apple and orange juices but then never came back to see if we were in need of anything else. I had to catch her and request the other items. We were never offered utensils we had to ask for then once our food was brought out, so I had to stir my coffee with my straw from my apple juice the waitress didn't bring out the food another worker did and she quickly sat down the plates and was about to walk away and I had to quickly ask for utensils before she got away. I personally feel that servers have a basic obligation to be attentive and pay attention to the basic needs of the client, like providing utensils for dining in a restaurant. There was no regular sugar at the table they only offered splenda and equal or sweet and low, none of which I use. The food was just ok it lacked depth and flavor. You do get good portion sizes, but other than that, it's just ok. The hash browns were bland, no seasoning in them at all, the gravy was also rather bland the biscuits were nice they had good body and flavor, but you were supposed to get two, that turned out to be one split in half. The juice was just ok. I believe the apple was a bit on the sweet side, and the orange juice, according to my wife, was not good. Everything was edible, but I personally do not believe this is an establishment that deserves a rating between a 4.5 and 5.0 it warrants a rating more in the 3.7...
Read moreMy boyfriend and two year old came here on Sunday morning around 8 am for breakfast. My daughter was sitting in a booster seat stacking the jellies from the caddy and the creamers from the bowl. (Mind you, she's 2. She can't open these things, merely just something to occupy her while we wait). Our server got our drink order and came back to our table and moved the caddy away from my daughter and said something about how we don't play with those. I was in shock. We gave it back to her and she came over again and slid it away from her (she was sitting at the front of the table and the server slid the caddy all the way to back of the table). At this point I'm so angry but mostly just confused at the audacity of this lady. Extremely rude and just unprofessional. She did move it again for a third time but this time she said "you don't even know how dirty this things are" and "we don't let kids touch these" well if that was the case then they shouldn't be on the table to begin with, or maybe she should do her job and wash them!! We've been here multiple times but never experienced something like this before. We got up and left without ordering any food and the server was at the front of the restaurant telling the rest of the staff (about 5 people) what happened very loudly, and accusing us of being in the wrong. I won't return, and if u have kids I wouldn't even waste...
Read moreNoticed two different warning signs outside the front door about no seating until the whole party is there, and also that the kitchen closes at 2:15. Both signs fairly blunt not especially welcoming. :) In hindsight, we maybe should have reconsidered at that point. Came in on a sweltering 95-degree day to find no AC, but we figured we'd adjust as we sat. I ordered the "Monte Kristo" sandwich and was served a turkey/ham/cheese on toasted bread. It was not battered or grilled (or dusted with powdered sugar, which a monte cristo sammy should be, but at least the menu didn't claim the dusting of sugar), and I had to ask for the sour cream and jam (sandwich had no other sauces or condiments). I asked the waitress if there had been a mistake (because clearly there had been), but she assured me it WAS the "Monte Kristo" sandwich as she breezed past our table without stopping. The fries were good. Though we left an hour before their closing time, staff was already cleaning around us while we ate, and the bathrooms were mid-clean when I used them (again, more than an hour before closing time). We found additional less-than-tactful signs in the bathrooms about leaving as soon as you're doing eating so they can get more people in on the weekends. On the way to the restroom I noticed that the thermostat read 85 degrees. I...
