China 1 — Restaurant in Dade City

After moving to Dade City almost 20 years ago, we continued to drive to our favorite NY style Chinese spot in Tampa. Wanting to find something closer, we gave this place a try, hoping it would have that same NY style flavor we enjoy, and it does.

We've always been happy with the food and service, and yes, the woman taking the orders remembers you and your order! I feel bad because I switch things up a teeny bit each time, lol. I'm surprised by the bad reviews about her, she's always been perfectly fine. Plan accordingly during the dinner rush (call in or do some quick shopping in the meantime). One time I was waiting in the restaurant during a rush and everyone was amazed by how she was keeping track of 10 different orders from walk-ins and call-ins.

Of what we've tried, we've enjoyed (but I'll be honest, we've probably only had 10% of the menu), except I wasn't impressed by the vegetable fried rice. It's not terrible but everything we usually get is very flavorful except for that. On my latest trip, I noticed increases in prices and smaller portion sizes but that's just what we're dealing with...

i WAS going to China one at least once a week to get honey Chicken wings and vegetable fried rice The food wasn’t bad but very small portions Each time I went in the lady at the front seemed like she had an attitude for whatever reason but I tried my best to ignore It. I’m a valued customer and have spent hundreds of dollars here. A few weeks ago I placed an order over the phone but unfortunately wasn’t able to make It. Today I placed an order around 1:10 and went to pick It up on my lunch break at 1:40 When I arrive of course she still has an attitude but proceeds to ignore that I’m standing there and took two other customers ahead of me. Finally she ask what I need help with and states it’ll be another 8 min I was upset because I was on my lunch break and had already been 30 min She said a few weeks ago u never came and I’m not wasting my food which is extremely unprofessional. I will NEVER spend another dime with this place and highly recommend a new person...

If I could give a 0 review I would! First time there and last time. The lady behind the counter was very rude after her arguing and yelling with the cook we not only waiting almost an hour for our food after watching everyone coming in and out after us, even though we called ahead 30 mins to order our food. The general Tso Chicken was dry and was like clumped together, order Shrimp Lo Mein with maybe 5 baby shrimp the noodles was soft and all chopped up then to top it off the Egg Rolls we thought was spring rolls hardly any filling and very greasy. Rest of food was dry and hard. I asked for napkins and plastic silverware just to be shown a small stack of napkins and told we have none to give away and no plastic silverware after spending $60 and wait time I would think we could get a napkin at least. Do not waste your time definitely...
