I have such fond memories of this bakery, but I can definitely say under the new ownership things have changed. It has been at least eight years since we’ve had one of their cakes. I ordered a cake for the Super Bowl and when my friend arrived to pick it up, they indicated no record of a cake ordered in my name. Yet the $45 charge was fully on my American Express. My friend waited for 30 minutes while they scrambled to see if I would accept another cake and then no one knew how to reverse the charge. On Monday morning I would’ve expected to be the first order of business, but I called the store. Yes, 10 minutes after they opened. When I initially called, I was more concerned, but as Francine, the manager, began to put me on court level interrogation, I became increasingly frustrated. For me the situation was quite simple. I ordered a cake. There was no cake. I need a refund. Rather than hearing me and being. Rather than hearing me and appearing to be empathetic in anyway, Francine chose to enter into a back-and-forth from which I was not going to back down. I was the harmed party and customer. Nor was I gonna wait another 24 hours for a refund that I was clearly due. They required me to give my full credit card number over the phone indicating that several people may have the same last four digits. I was clear with Francine that I would not call back that I would only be working with American Express to dispute the charge at the end of the discussion. I did have a refund. But at no point that I NEVER got an apology in this entire process.
As fate would have another friend of mine, also ordered a cake from Casa Linda. Interestingly, enough when she arrived, the cake was not made according to her specifications either. But The Baker was able to add chocolate frosting on top of the white and the inscription for the Super Bowl. So at the end of the day, our goal was accomplished. There was cake. And I also learned that in eight years, my taste was changed and it was not the wonderful flavor profile that I remembered. So needless to say, they don’t have to worry about me as a...

Read moreFor the passed 30 years have always bought my kids, grandkids, mother, etc.. birthday cakes, and also bought wedding cakes, anniversary cakes at Casa Linda Bakery. My kids knew they didn't have to ask me what kind of birthday cake I wanted for my birthday because it was always Casa Linda white cake with butter cream icing. WHAT HAVE THE NEW OWNERS DONE TO THIS BAKERY! The cakes are dry and the delicious butter cream icing they used to have is no longer edible. The first cake I bought after the bakery was sold was so dry my guess even said something about it. I called the next day and told them about it. I've tried them again a couple of more times and each time was worse than the time before. It's not just the cakes that have changed for the worse it's the cookies, cupcakes, pies, everything. I'm so very disappointed with what the new owners have done to this landmark bakery. It use to be the best place to go for any bakery item and now...
