What is this place? Waitress with a bad attitude, Did not answer phone when called at 5:00 am. I got there and it looked like everyone was sleeping in the back corner with the lights out. Is this a place for homeless people to sleep? Waitress has got to go, I will not be back....
Normally a good place to eat, but not this morning at 5:30am- Feb 15, 2015. Today was the worst experience I have ever had at a resturant. I call in before I get there so it will be ready. This morning I called, a female answered the phone, she said "Dennys", I told her I wanted to order breakfast and she hung up. I am in my car driving with speaker phone so I thought maybe she did not hear me, so I immediately call back. The phone just kept ringing, all the way to Denny's about 8 minutes I let it ring. When I got to Dennys, the waitress was outside smoking a cigarette. She followed me in, and I called Denny's phone number again to see if the phone was working, It was ringing but the volume was turned down low. The Cook was standing next to the front counter, he picked up the phone and turned up the volume- after he put it back down on the counter, the Waitress immediately pushed the button to turn it back down low. I went to the register to order so it would be faster. Right after I told her my food order, she totaled it up and pushed the TO Go button. I told her I wanted a tea to drink, she told me she could not delete the first order and re-ring it up to add a drink to the order- she was not the manager- appeared she did not want to give me a drink at all. I told her that was okay, I could pay for the first order, then order a drink and pay for it. The cook- knows me because I have been there several times before- walks out of the kitchen and asked if I wanted my food to eat in the booth, I said yes. He cooks my food, then brings it to me at my table. Meanwhile, the waitress brings me a tea in a to-go cup and plastic to-go fork and spoon-- Although I was already sitting at a table with my food on a regular plate. I don't know if it was busy before I got there, but several tables were dirty, no rolled silverware on any of the tables, and I had to go to another table to get jelly because my jelly container was empty. After I finished my food, I was out of tea and wanted a refill. I got up, went to the register and asked for a refill. The waitress said I could not get a refill in a to-go cup. I said if she would have given me a regular glass when I sat down, I would not be using a to-go cup. Some new customers came in, and I just stood there waiting for her to refill my tea. I almost took 5 steps and got it myself but she finally took my cup to refill it. The waitress's name on her nametag was NuNu but the reciept said the Server name was Sakiyyah T.
Sorry guys, I have tried to keep going to the resturant hoping service would get better but it has not. There used to be some of the best waiters and waitresses there until about 3 weeks ago when I first met Sakiyyah T. After I emailed Dennys office, she improved some but still has a bad attitude. Doesn't welcome people coming in, doesn't check up on them, doesn't thank them when they leave. I met waitress Kara Saturday morning about the same time- same type attitude and again, someone was sleeping in the back area of the resturaunt like before. I called at 530am today(Sunday)- a female answered, I said I wanted to order breakfast, she said just a minute and hung up on me- I called back, no answer. I gave up and went to Whataburger. The two best waiters(tress) were working I think Wednesday morning March 4th, a black male that always wears a jacket- which is fine with me, and a black female- they know me, they do a great job. When I call in, all I have to say is I need breakfast and they say it will be ready when I get there. You need to keep them working all week, alternate them and have them teaching. Sorry to say, but unless one of them answer the phone when I call, I will not be coming back in- going to Whataburger. Nobody else can do the job...

I am not even sure where to start off. I have been coming to this Denny's location at least once weekly if not twice weekly for breakfast for the past 2 years. I am a regular, they know my name and normal order in the a.m. My spouse and I have made it "our spot." My experience with this location is normally wonderful and problem free. We always enjoy our food and our overall experience at this location. We even joked when looking for a house this year that we had to stay local to this Denny's. Tonight after working a long 11 hr shift I decided I would treat myself to some Denny's. I sent my spouse up there tonight for me during a flash flood warning if that tells you anything about my need for some Denny's. I ordered a full order of nachos and what came home to me was a to go container of soggy, floppy, oil drenched tortillas. The toppings to the nachos were on the side so I was confused as to why the chips appeared to be half fried and soaked in oil. I called the store to let them know that I would be returning with my nachos despite having worked all day and survived the rain once. When I got to the store the servers were apologetic and very courteous. I was explaining to them why I was unhappy, showing them the greasy, floppy chips. The cook then stepped out of the kitchen to argue with me that he fried them himself and that he followed company standards and that those were up to par, as I literally stood there with grease running down my fingertips from showing the servers the "chips". I asked him then what I should do with the food I was given and he told me I needed to contact corporate to let you know that the guidelines you set for cooking chips need to be changed because he followed the training chart and did his job. I myself worked for a Mexican restaurant for 6 years and fried chips every day, know that those chips were in fact not cooked correctly. The manager, who was very polite and understanding, was done assisting another customer and was able to ask him to please go into the kitchen and quit accosting me in the lobby, he argued with her and told her no and continued to tell me that all chips fried in grease looked liked that. She had to ask him a few more times and then again sternly to go into the kitchen so that she could resolve the matter with me. I am just appalled at the way he would be willing to throw Denny's under the bus and blame the "cooking protocol" instead of owning up and just saying he let some bad chips go out the window. Not only do I find him to be unprofessional I just find that attitude towards the customers a little rude and hope that it will be brought to your attention that your cook is just all around offensive and I will never dine in the evening knowing that he is who would be serving me food in the future. If it wasn't for the niceness of the staff and manager on duty tonight and the fact that I LOVE the morning crew there I don't think that I would have been able to return at all in the future. I will from here on out stick to my normal morning crew.
Thank you,...
Read moreI went here tonight and was treated so badly that I'd never think to come back. We were meeting up with some other people of color and when we finally got there, we were greeted with our waitress asking us if we were meeting someone. I assume she said this to us because we and our group were the only black people in the restaurant which was almost empty but a few people. We ordered waters, and when it was time to order, my friend ordered the French Toast Slugger which she was told came with two drinks so she ordered coffee. Fifteen minutes passed by and no coffee. My friend got the attention of the manager, who came and told us they had just brewed a fresh pot to which my friend replied our waitress could have told us this. The manager told our waitress this and she brought the coffee out but didn't say a word to us or let us know that our food would be coming out soon. When our food finally came, my friend didn't have any butter for her french toast. We got the attention of the other waiter on duty and he got the butter and my friend tipped him for actually helping us. We were so upset the whole situation that we just wanted to eat and leave and I really just wanted to get a to-go box and go. Again, we had our non-waiter help us with the to-go box and get our checks.Shortly after that, our waitress seated a couple of white women in her section and got their order together quickly unlike ours. My friend requested to speak with the general manager and was told the general manager's number was on the receipt and would be there tomorrow at 7:30. My friend thanked him and said she would give him a good review for being the only one to help us. After boxing up my food, me and my friend went up to the counter. My friend told the manager that she would be contacting her boss and the manager proceeded to argue with my friend. When leaving upset, my friend advised a black man coming in not to eat here if we didn't want to be treated badly. All of the sudden, the manager from inside comes out and bans us from the location. I want it to be known that I'm a regular at Denny's (at another location) and this to was the first time I had been at this location and because of the way I was treated, I will not be coming back. It's not even like we were terrible customers. We only asked for what was necessary for our order. It seemed to me that because we were black, we were treated badly and this is an experience that I rarely run into but when it seemed as blatant as it was, I believe it's only right that you all should get to know how our experience at this...
