We are new to town and found this place when searching online for a spot to watch Saints games. We have frequented this business on 3 separate occasions and today will be our last time visiting.
In a world of COVID related restrictions it seems like restaurants and bars have been very grateful for customer support. We are foodies and avid sports fans and eat out/ watch games out 4-5 days a week. Unfortunately, it was clearly made obvious today that the Dodie’s management doesn’t want the business.
We arrived an hour early and sat on the outdoor patio. It was 67 degrees and sunny so we sat at the bar excited to watch the Saints game! We ordered a couple drinks and an appetizer and eagerly waited while the Cowboys game came to an end.
We were wondering why all the windows connecting the outside bar from the indoor bar were open except for the one we were seated in front of... As the game was about to begin I asked if they would please mind raising the window... I was told they would ask the manager... didn’t really make sense because the others were open but, OK... I waited 15 min... Frustrated, I got up from my seat and walked inside to ask again... I was told by our bartender that it was cold outside and the manager said no, they wouldn’t raise the window separating my seats from the interior TV’s so I could watch the game from the seats I had held for an hour.
I was perplexed. I asked to please have an opportunity to speak with the manager. The bartender said she would send the manager out... 20 min later, we were asked if we were ready to go. No manager, no window opened, 66 and sunny no wind, 2 customers who had been there several times before forced to peer through a dirty window to watch the game... why? Because it was too cold...
My assessment, horrible customer service. A gutless manager who couldn’t walk out and tell me themselves that they didn’t want to accommodate my request. The decision was whimsical, no logic at all... All the other windows were open, why couldn’t you just open mine so I could see the game?
I guess I didn’t matter that much. Maybe if you go to this place you will get lucky, maybe you will get treated well, maybe you will get treated like we did... horrible. One thing I know, I wont be back, there are many more choices where I am appreciated for...

It was shortly after Chapel Hill took the L to ND and I found myself just wanting some good food & drinks. I went up to the bar, got a menu and ordered a side salad to start off. I asked one of the bartenders for a recommendation after I ordered and she walks away with my card with an attitude. I wish I had her name but what saved the entire experience was moving to a lone table near the bar mat. After Bailey, the server who’s área it was let me know it was available. The bartender that just caught an attitude actually tried to direct Bailey not to serve me, which is crazy to me, but evil doesn’t win here. Sat down got another menu, went through the same question, recommendation? was a Hurricane, delicious. Eventually ended up ordering the ceasar salad and Cajun pasta with shrimp and extra chicken….. it was incredible. Bailey anticipated needs very well, made sure everything was A1and allowed me to enjoy the meal. I really wish I could’ve gave Bailey the full tip directly but they split tips... I feel like when servers pool tips there’s less incentive to actually do well. That’s why my first interaction with the bartender was not pleasant. Next time I go I’ll likely be carrying a little dry power for the tip, Iykyk. Thanks again Bailey for saving the day with that experience and props to the chefs that made that delicious...
