I've struggled with doing this review for a few weeks now and I came to conclusion that it has to be said. I'm not a huge fan of buffets however since the birthday girl chose this place I went along with it. Upon arriving we were greeted and told to pick a seat. The place is rather outdated nothing at all to brag about. Being greeted by the man at the entrance was the absolute best part of the service from here on out. We placed our drink orders which were way overpriced but anywho we then proceeded to see what was available on the buffet. I was shocked by the fact there was no orange chicken, or sesame or garlic chicken because this is a Chinese buffet correct? I settled for egg drop soup, crab Rangoons, fried rice and sweet sour chicken. The rice, rangoons and soup were the best things that were offered on the buffet. The chicken was dry and tough and honestly nothing on the buffet seemed fresh. My grandson got pizza, smoked sausage and lomein off the buffet and the only edible thing on his plate was the lomein. The available items on the buffet were not what I would have imagined and everything looked leftover and poorly prepared. Still celebrating we then thought Oh let's try fruit and dessert which was no better. Unripened grapes with seeds, oranges hard and not sweet, jello tough and hard no jiggle at all (in my grandsons voice) and the banana pudding was more like slop and cookies. Overall this was a complete waste of $86 and the birthday girl who turned 73 by the way was so disappointed that she chose this place when there were so many other options. We had enough so we asked for our check. We received it placed the money on the clip she brought the change back and proceeded to stand there. We're allowing the birthday girl to open her cards and gift. The woman then asks "no tip?" Mind you no matter how bad the food is we always leave a tip and we had intended to leave a minimal tip considering we served ourselves and the only thing this woman had done was brought out 5 drinks which she didn't even have to refill and it's rude to ask for a tip while people are still talking or drinking etc. I asked for a to go cup and the woman pouted, walked off and never came back. Hopefully she was gathering cleaning supplies to clean up the women's bathroom as it was a disgusting mess. Needless to say I made the executive decision to remove the tip as there was absolutely nothing tip worthy about the...
Read moreUnfortunately I can’t give 0 stars We went to celebrate my Dad’s birthday at Flaming Buffet and ended up with the worst experience.
We were all done eating our dinner and where in process of paying and checking out, we all did what’s normal and tipped 20% by card the Waiter didn’t do much but we still understand they make their money out of tip and we would never not tip a service. Anywho when it was time to pay she went around the table picking up our checks, and harassing us to give her cash 💵 at first I was confused and tried to show her that we did tip but than she proceeded to say “more tip, mas Propina I explained to her once again it’s a tip on card. She then harassed everyone and went around asking everyone for a Cash Tip and speaking her Asian Language with another waiter. I personally understand it is hard not being able to speak the language correctly but than she proceeded to laugh and speak her language with a coworker and waiving the check saying “No tip” At this point she upset me. I then said “it’s Illegal to harass anyone to give you an extra tip” She then immediately started saying “okay sorry” with a laugh and still asking for more tip. We decided to speak to the front desk and to a manager and the manager but he didn’t seem to care and kept saying “it’s a language barrier” He didn’t show empathy nor did he try to be a problem solver. This is highly disrespectful and I hope this never happens to you as well. It was embarrassing for us because she made us feel as we didn’t tip. I understand the language can be difficult because I myself am a Latina raised by parent who didn’t speak anything else but Spanish But I do know it’s isn’t a language barrier when you don’t hesitate to say “More Tip in cash or Mas propina” than clearly you know what you’re doing. I personally have no respect for waiters with this energy but also for manager who don’t care to listen and be a problem solver. We tipped 20% and yes will not be going back to eat here. Please rethink when choosing this restaurant because they will try to hustle an extra tip out of you and then call it a language barrier. If I could rate the service...
Read moreThis place is garbage. They stop replacing food at 9. That means that any food items that were on the buffet but now are gone will not get replaced. They will just take out the bin and move the rest of the food down to cover up the spot. When I was there I saw a waitress empty an entire row of food and turn off the heat lamps. From what I remember I saw only 4, maybe 5, rows of food. Thats cutting the food selection down by 1/4 or 5th. This did not include the sushi and hibashi. They do not make hibashi after 9. I asked a cook about more eel sushi and said that he'd give me some pieces, but only that one time because they do not get paid anymore after 9 and the food is counted for so he could face backlash. Uuuummmmm what? A buffet that closes at 10pm but doesnt pay cooks passed 9pm? Wth?!?! I've been to several other buffets at the last hour of service and all the buffets I've been to have food coming until closing. I asked a cook about the hibashi and said, " don't you see he's already cleaned up?" Oh, my bad for expecting hibashi at an establishment that says they serve hibashi. Sooooooo.... I'm left w food not being rolled out, no hibashi, no more of the sushi option that was there before the cooks decided to not put out anymore. I literally could not pay for less options during dinner than at lunch. Told the guy at the register that I was not paying for that meal because full price dinner w less options was not what I was told when I came in. Had they warned me that I was paying for half the dinner options at full price when I got seated then I would have just left. After the security guard got involved I was able to get half off my ticket. As long as I wasn't paying full price, I'll take it. Will not be coming back. Would rate 0/5 if i could. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED LUL
Wanted to try a new place, but I guess UNO super buffet in irving will stay my go-to buffet.
Tl;dr: Food stops at 9 but place closes at 10. Did not want to pay full price for half the selection of food at dinner. Got half off my ticket. Will not be back. They suck w customer...
