Drove all the way to the Camp Wisdom location from Rowlett and waited in the drive thru line for about 15 minutes, to be told "no" we don’t have this and that on every food item I attempted to order from the menu. Make it make sense, to tell a customer it's 9 pm and you don't sell 10 piece mix or family order after this timeframe, but will sell 5 piece mix and lower chicken orders. So you'd sell me two 5 piece mix orders at individual higher prices, which still adds up to 10 pieces of chicken overall, instead of the lower 10 piece mix order price. Then you don't have chicken crispers, hot links, or chicken tenders also, 2 hrs before closing. Just say you're too lazy or too rude to cook food, if you don't have what a customer wants readily available. But to up-charge the price on the same amount of chicken in separate orders is highway robbery. I drove right on down the highway to the location at Medical District and ordered a 10 piece mix order in a matter of minutes and with no hesitation. Same black-owned family establishment, but a big difference in representation of how customers are treated. I'm sure the Medical District location always has superb customer service because of the clientele they serve daily. I've never experienced hiccups at the Medical District location and won't ever waist my time driving to the Camp Wisdom location again, which used to always be my favorite go to place for late night dining when I lived out in that area over 10 years ago. Some places just don't value your business or money, especially to turn down money on multiple orders, due to pure laziness or rude business practices! And yes the female attendant at the Camp Wisdom location was very rude and non-chalant, compared to that of the young lady at the Medical District location whose mannerism was very pleasant. Based on your response Team Leader Hall, you will have to reach out to me personally if you’d like a reply back to your response as there’s no way of course to respond back to you ok this platform, than update my review. Unfortunately, my review still stands as is. However, I was able to make a series of photo screenshots of my reply back to you and have attached them in the photos section for your review!

Nice young man offered great customer service. But, I recently purchased 2 chicken meals from this location and it was by far the worst I have ever consumed. The "No season salt" disclaimer seemed to mean "NO SEASONING AT ALL." The chicken was completely bland and lacked any flavor, literally just paid for 2 bags of trash.. Very disappointing! Feedback for J Hall: Honesty, I don't even care for seasoning salt itself, but some type of flavor would have been nice. With all due respect, the only seasoning on your food seems to be the grease; absolutely not one spec of seasoning - raw chicken, plain white flour, and old grease. It's impressive that you've succeeded for 35 years, and I wish you many more years of success. However, the feedback you're receiving about the lack of flavors could benefit your company’s growth. But you're right, there are other restaurants that value their customers' feedback instead of brushing them off in arrogance. Adopting these practices could help you continue to thrive.

Update on 5/5/24: The owner has finally responded a year later 🤨, but unfortunately ignored the criticism about the old, cold, refried chicken 🥶🐥. It seems that the chance for improvement was missed. P.S. - It is puzzling that you DESIRE to check your "cameras" but failed to acknowledge the receipt with the date and timestamp, as well as the pictures of the refried chicken that were included. ORIGINAL POST—-Rarely do I ever leave bad reviews for black-owned businesses; if the experience is unpleasant, I don’t leave a review at all, but this is a different story. I bought a ten-piece crispette plate, and not only was the chicken old and refried, but the chicken dared to be cold once we received it through the window after sitting in line for 20 minutes. Look at the pictures and make your own decision before buying food from this place.

Contrary to the rhetorical speeches you are providing to customers, you should reprimand your staff and make the best corrections. Being here 35 means nothing, let's see if you make it to 40 years. I can’t believe i have to leave a review like this after being a regular customer for years. I was released from the hospital after surgery and wanted the usual hot fried chicken with bread and fries after eating hospital food for days. I couldn’t cook quick enough for myself because I needed to take my medicine for pain but needed to eat first. I figured going before lunch rush would be best for me and the food would be hot and fresh. Waited at least ten minutes in the line. When I get to the window I’m polite and the cashier was mid and like other reviewers I have noticed lately when you order you feel like the cashier doesn’t have customer service or you get weird vibes from them. I admit I was looking tired and busted and maybe the cashier thought I was one of the crazy ppl in our neighborhood. I ordered a two piece dark and extra small fry. Which I also noticed the portion of fries is sprinkled out and now. Got home and I was so insulted by what I had received. I work from home and to get back so I didn’t have time to call or come back. The fries were hard and the food was barely warm the thigh had a bone popping out and brown inside and the leg was a little pink by the bone. Even the pickles and peppers looked like they got what was at the bottle of the jar turn up and bruised up. The food taste and presentation was not the usual at all. Called back the next day not for a refund or for new chicken but just to let the team know that was atrocious and even if you have bad customers in this neighborhood I wouldn’t serve that too a dog. I forgot to take a picture and didn’t even try to attempt to eat the meal. I had my receipt number and time at 11:39a when i ordered. Spoke to Ericka and she questioned me in an accusatory tone after I explained to her what I wrote above. She said she would let Mr. Hall know and he would run the cameras I gave her my name, number and car information. Never received a call back or a true concern or apology. At this point I will cook at home and save my money. Everyone is not attacking you all we expect what we were use...

The need for improvement is unreal, asking for extra money at the window after order is paid for. The chicken had no flavor at all! I grew up on Henderson and Hall's chicken! When is was the best DAM yard bird in Dallas tx,This is not it! Your employees are suspect. I won't be visiting again. Not friendly at all at all. The customer service could improve at this point. It's below board. When you, when you work to earn your money, it's hard to come by 'Then you don't want to spend it at a place where they make you feel like it's a imposition for you to pull up. To their establishment. The young people you have working for will cost you your business, D magazine was 2021 this 2025. First of all, for your snide reply. You'll never get the opportunity to get my business again. Henderson chicken on Oakland Avenue. Your attitude, no your food compares. Halll's chicken on Gaston Avenue back in the 80s. Your food nor your attitude does not compare, and I'll assure you Ted that.I will never, ever buy another piece of your chicken from any location. U be blessed, And as far as d magazine , I saw it screwed to the side of your building Some people. May get lucky and come through there and get some fresh chicken and decent service. Doing lunch 'time but your customers don't have to lie, To you I work hard for my money. I'm not looking for anything free! now I see why your employees, attitudes are as they are leadership reflect attitude. Ted Everybody wants a good compliment. Of course! you want to know that your business is doing good, But when a customer has a complaint, a legitimate complaint, you don't attack the customer so as well as you would like a good compliment every time, be ready to take criticism when that time comes. I will never buy...
