Umm based on other reviews compared to my experience, I would guess that the time of day may have played a factor in my experience. I along with another dining guest received luke-warm food, and when asked to have the items replaced staff's attitudes were willing, but reluctant. Unfortunately, though, the issue I specifically expressed dissatisfaction over came with a bit of a confrontational attitude from what seemed to be the main cook.
I asked for a more fresh plate of food, as I can taste when spice has been put in place to mask stateless. Honestly I did my best in being cordial. I even asked in Spanish, as it seemed the cashier struggled a little bit with English when we ordered. Really it wasn't even bad, I just thought it would make him more comfortable if I spoke where he was more fluent. "¿Tienes algo mas fresco?" (Translation: Do you have anything fresher? ). That didn't help. You would've thought I walked up to the counter with fighting words based on the response.
The cook came back immediately with, "What do you mean fresh?!" cutting me off on English. I guessed that I caught the end of a bad day or something, but it honestly sucked being talked down to in the tone that he used. And it wasn't just the tone itself. It was also the fact that the cook nearly coerced me into agreeing that there wasn't any issue with freshness, yet when offering to remake my plate, he scooped a cup of already cooked rice out of a giant cooker to start my new plate. Not a medium sized one that you periodically have to refill every few hours. No.The big ones where you can prepare everything at the start of the day, then serve out of across multiple meal windows.
Call me crazy, but my definition of 'fresh' is that the rice that ends up on my plate, is dry and uncooked in a plastic bag before I even place my order, not sitting in a cooker that was mixed God knows how long ago.
Don't get me wrong, I love a good salt infested meal that's been flavored to the high heavens, so I finished the rice that a paid for. However, the staff's blatant rude response to reasonable complaints have encouraged me to keep my money where it has been all along: no where near...
Read moreEDIT: 11/2/25: I've revised my rating to three stars. Lately, I've noticed smaller portion sizes during multiple visits. What was once a large portion now feels more like a small one. For the price, other Chinese take-outs offer almost double the quantity.
Original Review:
This establishment, reminiscent of a traditional family-run Chinese restaurant, offers affordable and flavorful cuisine. The straightforward menu features popular dishes. I particularly enjoy the Combo fried rice with chicken, shrimp, and beef, which consistently delivers a delightful umami taste. The restaurant maintains a clean environment, and the ambiance is pleasant, although takeout seems to be the preferred choice for most customers.
I'm giving four stars because, while the portions are good, they're not quite large enough for my appetite. I often find myself needing to order extra items, like chicken wings, to feel satisfied. While I understand this may be intentional, I would appreciate it if they considered larger portions or an extra-large option, which I'd happily pay extra for.
I recommend this restaurant for a quick and delicious Chinese...
Read moreI used to love coming here for their chicken fingers and spicy noodle bowl but the last two times we've had a bad experience here. First bad experience, I called 20 minutes before closing to place an order because I didn't want to be that customer that shows up last minute and the employee on the phone tells me that she can't take my order and that they're only taking walk-in orders. I knew most likely I'd get there 5 minutes until 9, which I did and the doors were locked. Second bad experience, we ordered chicken fingers and a noodle bowl for takeout and the styrofoam container in which the noodles were in were too hot for the container which melted/broke down the container. Styrofoam is known to leach the toxin Styrene when they come into contact with warm food or drink, alcohol, oils and acidic foods causing human contamination and pose a health risk to people. I called 3 times to let them know that there was hole in the container due to the noodles being too hot...
