La Paloma Taqueria — Restaurant in Dallas

We happened upon this eatery when another establishment across the street closed as we were arriving! Upon entry the atmosphere was very nice and a family was enjoying a meal together! The menu offered several items and neither my friend nor I had eaten all day! He proceeded to order in Spanish and I opted in on a slice of Tres Leches from the beginning!! In my (broken Spanish) ordered only 3 barbacoa tacos w/cilantro - onions on the side! My friend chimed in and reminded me how small they usually are and I added to chicken and a Large Horchata! We sat down to wait on our order and a few customer where getting pickup orders! I went to the restroom and noticed water on the floor and the the toilet was running. I opened the kid to see lid to see the stopper was loose from one side! Once adjusted, it quickly filled up and stopped! I washed & dried my hands and tiptoed out to keep from slipping! As I sat down at the table our food was being brought out! I asked my friend what he ordered as his taco looked exactly like mine! I mentioned, "isn't Barbacoa usually soft with Gravy?" To which he did notice that I was given time wrong meat! He politely went and spoke with the young lady and she apologized having misheard my request! They were prepared, brought out, and enjoyed! We ended up talking and enjoying our desserts and were there a little after 10 pm. They were very polite and did not RUSH US OUT!!

This was the most expensive food I have ordered in a long time. I got 3 empanadas, some chicken nuggets and fries for my 3 year old son of the kids menu, milanesa, and my wife got an arepa. It was us 3 and we got charged a service fee of 18% as if it were gratuity. My bill came out to about $75 and it was most definitely not worth that money at all. They also charged me $5 for a can of soda and brought the can with a glass of ice for me to pour it in. I would not reccomend this place to my worst enemy. Not worth the money! Do not come here. I was in shock when I got the bill. Also, I asked for a sprite for my 3 year old son, but the person who was taking our orders couldn't understand me. I ordered my food on UberEats and it’s still absolutely amazing. I can’t even imagine how good it would be to have actually gone and got it fresh. I got the spicy chicken sopes and chips w/guacamole. The sopes are phenomenal. The flavors enhanced by the 3 different salsas I was provided, which are not only actually spicy but also so flavorful. And the guacamole is literally the best I’ve ever had. I’m actually sitting here with a mouthful of it and sad that eventually I will finish it.
