Doesn't look like much when you walk past, but I was dying for some food, so I chose Onedon. There were a couple of guests and the location is wheel chair accessible. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by the front attendant which I assumed was the owner. He definitely gave me the vibes that he was the one in charge. It was our first time here, but he recommended a couple of menu items. He said the Don katsu was a pretty popular choice, so that's what I got. My two buddies got the Cheese Omurice with chicken and Curry Omurice with chicken.
It's time for the food. First of all, all of the dishes tasted amazingly fresh and hot. My cabbage salad tastes really refreshing and the veggies tasted nice and washed. The Macaroni salad was amazing. Definitely could've ate a bowl of it to be honest. The pork loin was absolutely amazing. The it had an amazing crunch Everytime I tore into it. Don katsu sauces had a really nice flavor to it. Savory!
The Omurice was really great too. The rice was amazing inside the egg. The curry blended with the Omurice had an outstanding flavor. 10/10
Definitely come here for the mom pop...
Read moreThe store is very modern, chic, and clean. Who I assume is the owner, was also so kind and charismatic to us when we first entered the store. He gave us suggestions based on popularity or dietary restrictions, which was very considerate. We ended up ordering the hamburger steak which came with an egg and grilled pineapple, and a cheese pork katsu.
The hamburger steak was very crispy on the outside, yet tender and juicy on the inside; the glaze sauce with mushroom complimented this very well.
The cheese pork katsu was HUGE, definitely worth the price for the portion size. It was VERY crispy, crunchy, and juicy. And best of all, the cheese oozed out and was very stretchy and yummy.
All in all, these was a great first experience and I look forward to visiting again. I hope this business receives more praise and patrons that it's...
Read moreDiscovered this place with a friend and have no regrets! The service was so kind. When we arrived it was just one older man (I think the owner) manning the front, but he himself was a gem. I got the curry chicken katsu and I have to say it was probably one of the best I’ve had. The chicken was moist and seasoned perfectly. And I want to say that they use real bread crumbs because that chicken was CRONCHY. I also loved that the curry was served on the side because often times when it’s served on top, it takes away from the crunch, making half of the chicken soggy. However this was not the case! There was a nice side salad, macaroni salad, and a small portion of rice served on the side. The atmosphere was aesthetically pleasing and clean. I don’t live in Dallas so every time I come for a visit, this place...
