This restaurant is tucked into the corner of a small shopping center. It is SUCH a gem. My boyfriend and I went here for a late night date, and the owners and employees are so welcoming and kind. They were helpful with choosing what’s good on the menu! We tried the fried croaker, dumpling soup, pork belly bbq for two, and kimchi Korean pancake. Combined with the banchan (Korean side dishes), It was PLENTY of food.
The food was cooked so well. I was SO impressed. The dumpling soup had such a rich broth and the dumplings were delicious. Did I mentioned they were homemade? So delicious. A must try.
Kimchi Korean pancake was good. SO well cooked, served a yummy dumpling sauce. Please pair with Makgeolli, a Korean rice wine. It is such a wonderful food pairing.
The pork belly was SO YUMMY. My boyfriend and I easily underestimated how much there was and we ended up with leftovers for two additional meals. Served with lettuce, ssamjang dipping sauce and sesame oil with some salt. So yummy, so fun to eat. Try it with kimchi too!
The croaker was good! Not our favorite but it is a common Korean fish that we wanted to try! Fried well! Best to pair with rice and their side dishes. I highly recommend trying the mackerel, that’s what I’m going for next time!
Their side dishes ARE so yummy and you can tell they do it homemade. Please take the time to admire the dishes and pair them with your yummy meal!
Serving sizes are huge, and the food is cooked deliciously. Please try it with a fellow foodie and you will love it here! The staff is so kind and nice, and my boyfriend and I really enjoyed their company and service. Looking forward to the next time I get to...
Read moreWe used to enjoy dining at this restaurant. A perfect low-key spot to enjoy good Korean food with a drink or two. Then came the pandemic. I definitely understand that it was a difficult time for many and truly empathize with small business owners who had to endure the hardship. But the treatment we received on two separate occasions still angers me to this day.
We are foodies; we enjoy trying small portions of different foods to complete a meal and, therefore, end up ordering more dishes than we are able to consume in one seating. I have no complaints about the food nor do I have any problems with the dining experience. When we asked for to-go boxes for the leftover food, however, the treatment we received made us feel like we were committing a shameful act of crime.
The older woman (I believe the mother of the male owner) made a fuss about my asking for the to-go box and grumbled nonstop about how handing out the box is costing the business money. She continued to make distasteful remarks in Korean (and yes, I am fluent in Korean) for everyone in the restaurant to hear. We felt demoralized and utterly embarrassed after two similar experiences with the woman (the male owner is very nice, however), and have not returned since and...
Read moreDal Dong Nae is one of my all time favorite Korean restaurants because of the homestyle food. I love their galbi (short ribs), fish cake (one of the side dishes you usually get in a korean restaurant) and pajeon (pancake).
This place has the best banchan! Usually at other places I only touch 2-3 of the side dishes they put out but here I eat half of them (only because I'm bad at eating vegetables). I always have to ask for more fish cake because I practically inhale them.
Whenever I go here I always order the galbi and the pepper pancake. The galbi here is better than most places I've been to. The pancake here is definitely some of the best I've had. The seafood pancake is really good too! But my favorite is definitely the pepper pancake. I could eat it everyday.
Oh! And they have purple rice instead of white rice.. I don't know what it's called but it's good and I think it's healthy?!
This place has the best of all my favorite Korean dishes! It's a good late night restaurant and it doesn't put a dent...
